The following five minutes were the slowest of Scott's life. Introducing Stephen and Loki wasn't the hard bit, it was trying to get Luis to shut up. Kurt and Dave were content with just saying hi, but with Luis being Luis, he had to tell them exactly who he was, which involved most of his and Scott's life stories.

Scott was staring at the hallway floor, his face burning pink. Stephen and Loki were uncharacteristically speechless, incredibly confused expressions on their faces. Luis was oblivious as usual, and just carried on with his story, uninterrupted for five whole minutes before he paused for breath. Scott saw his chance.

"Very fascinating, Luis," Scott interrupted. "But why are you here? Short version please."

"This guy doesn't do short version," Loki noted. Stephen nodded in agreement.

"So, basically-" Luis started. Scott interrupted again.

"Only key details," Scott said.

"Oh, yeah, of course, of course," Luis assured him. "So, basically..."

And there he goes again. Rambling on about something to do with waffles and sandwiches, and about ugly sweaters and even uglier sweaters, then about something to do with a phone call with his mom and then deciding to surprise visit Kurt and Dave so they could surprise visit him. Most of it was just pure Luis waffle, as most of their conversations were, to be honest.

Poor Loki and Stephen were just standing there, confused, trying decipher Luis-Language. Scott was about the only one who could, and even though Loki could speak every language there was, this was one no one but Luis was fully fluent in.

Scott blinked as he finished. "So, you were deciding which ugly sweater was the ugliest when you remembered the waffles were in the toaster, then found they were burnt so you made a sandwich, which was when you got a phone call from your mom saying you should get out and go see friends, and that's when you decided, out of the blue, with no preparation or even asking permission first, decided to rock up to my house expecting me to just be cool with it?"

"Yeah, that's what I just said," Luis said, smiling awkwardly. Or it just looked awkward because Scott was feeling awkward.

"Well..." Scott said, "It's a bit crowded in the living room at the minute, so I don't know what to suggest."

"I have an idea!" Cassie said, bursting out of the living room at that immediate minute. "Hey Luis, hey Dave, hey Kurt."

"Hey," the three of them said, waving.

"Idea?" Scott prompted.

Cassie raised her arms in hey presto. "Snowball fight!"

Hell yeah! That was an awesome idea, because they could have some Christmas-y fun and play games, but not be cramped into one tiny room.

"You, Cassandra Lang, are a total genius!" Scott enthused, clapping his hands. "I truly have no idea where you get your genius-ness from."

"Must be Maggie," Loki said, without even having to think about it. Scott glared at him.

"Hey, you know, actually, Mr God Dude," Luis started, "Scotty is actually really smart, like, you know, that time we were breaking into the Hank guy's house, and he was like, all ninja-like and stuff..."

"He let us break in," Scott reminded him for the umpteenth time. "And thank you, Luis, I am smart, actually. Very smart."

Loki just shrugged.
