Sirius had had enough of this, he was done being treated like filth by his own family. He hated being treated this way by his parents but there wasn't a day that he regretted being sorted into Gryffindor. It was one of the best things that ever happened to him. From a very young age, Sirius knew he was different from the rest of his family. But being sorted into Gryffindor officially proved it. Sirius' parents have never liked his nonchalant ways since he was little, but being sorted into Gryffindor made it all even worse. They didn't approve of his friends in the slightest.

Sirius still remembered that day, when he had come back home for Christmas Break after his first term at Hogwarts. His face was flushed with joy his eyes sparkled with excitement, he had never been that happy ever before. Sirius' time at Hogwarts was the best time he had ever had in his life. But little did he know he was not greeted home with warmth or love by his parents.

His father had beaten him up while his mother kept yelling at him, their eyes burning with hatred. He remembered when his father dragged a very scared Regulus from under his bed crying. Sirius had never seen his father so angry before, he was terrified. Orion Black had made Regulus look at Sirius, pointing his finger at Sirius he had said "You better get this in your head boy! The Black Family is one of the noblest and purest wizarding families and being sorted in Gryffindor is just-just outrageous." Mr Black's face was so red in the face by now, he was just so angry he could barely talk without yelling "This-this traitor has done it, betrayed his own family!" Sirius was shrunk on the floor with a choking sob he couldn't stand up his nose was bleeding but he couldn't even make an effort to wipe it. "You better not follow his steps for your own good, for I have never tolerated any kind of this nonsense and I never will," he said and with that, he stormed out of the room. From that day on, Sirius had never been treated the same by their parents ever again.

And after another one of his father's outbursts, Sirius was just done, he had never unpacked his trunk since he had returned home a week ago. He was home for summer after his sixth year at Hogwarts. Sirius grabbed a few of his clothes that were lying on his bed and he looked around his room. Even through his anger and frustration Sirius couldn't help but smile, his room was messy and he had just fixed his muggle posters that piss off his parents so much, with a . With another look Sirius took his trunk and walked out of the room, it was past midnight his parents were sleeping. But Sirius couldn't leave without a final glance at his brother so he as quietly possible walked towards his brother's room. He slowly opened the door Regulus was asleep, Sirius sighed closing the door and with that, he left the house. Sirius couldn't apparate for he wasn't 17 yet, and he couldn't take the night bus for someone might recognize him and alert his parents, so he started walking he didn't know where yet but he had to get as far from his parents as possible. A thought flashed through his mind after walking mindlessly for about three hours it seemed, Y/n. Yes, he had to take Y/n with him he couldn't let her be stuck in that gloomy manor with her psychotic parents. He'd been friends with Y/n before he even attended Hogwarts, she was a Lestrange so their situation wasn't so different. And finally, after years of plotting together if he was going to run away from home, he had to take Y/n with him. So he started walking towards the Lestrange manor, once he reached he took a few deep breaths and started climbing to Y/n's window.

Her light was still on, she was probably reading he thought so he clung to the windowpane and hurled himself inside. Y/n was shocked but she didn't scream, her eyes widened but she quickly narrowed them. "What are you doing here?" she whispered, "What does it look like?" Sirius said as he sat on her bed. Y/n placed her hands on her hips, an impatient look on her face, "If my brothers find out you're here, they're going to kill you." She warned. "Hey relax, I'm here to rescue you." Sirius said raising both his hands in defence, "From what?" she asked her tone laced with a mixture of annoyance and impatience. "Well from this house, your parents and your thug brothers, you're welcome," he said in an airy teasing manner. Y/n didn't say anything so he continued "I'm running away and well I just happened to think you wouldn't mind the idea so much yourself." He said.

Y/n looked at him her face serious "You want me to run away with you Black?" she asked, Sirius smiled "Yes" he said. Y/n clutched her forehead and looked away for a bit before locking her gaze at him again "Poor choice of words but, Are you crazy?" she said her voice slightly rising. "I think you know the answer to that question doll," Sirius said before flashing her a cheeky grin. But then again he said, "I'm not forcing you to come you know, it's just a suggestion." Sirius said running a hand through his hair. "You're going to get the both of us killed" Y/n muttered as she grabbed her trunk and started packing. Sirius smiled broadly even though Y/n rolled her eyes at him.
