Library Pt.2

James walked in and closed the door to Y/n's dorm. It was Sunday evening now and she had not been out once. Y/n thought it was one of her roommates. She was laying under a blanket, James sat down at the end of her bed, "Hey" he said softly and Y/n peeked out, "Hey" she replied. "So what are you doing here huh?" he asked, Y/n shot him a look. "Sirius didn't tell us a thing but we know something's up," he reassured her. Y/n took a deep breath and sat up, "I have been going out with Regulus for the last two months," she said looking at her hand. James had not expected this and the shock was displayed clearly on his face, after he managed to pull himself together he started "You were visiting him in the library?" he asked, and Y/n nodded. They sat quietly after that."Sirius was just looking out for you, he doesn't want you to get hurt you know," James said after a long while. "I know," she said nodding. "You know how his family treats him, he doesn't want you to go through that," James said softly smiling at her. Y/n sighed and smiled back at him. 'Oh yeah, what do you know Prongs?' She wanted to say 'You didn't see the look on his face when he caught us, the shock, the confusion and the distaste.'"I didn't want to hurt him Prongs," Y/n said leaning against his shoulder, "I know, I know," James said coaxingly. "How will I ever face him again?" Y/n sighed.That week Y/n avoided Sirius in all classes, but it didn't turn out to be as hard as she had thought it would be. Sirius seemed to want to avoid her too, but what he really was doing; was just keeping his distance to give it some time before having to talk to Y/n again, he didn't want to say anything to her that he would forever regret saying.Y/n was in potion's, she sat down on an empty table Evan Rosier sat down beside her. "What do you want?" Y/n asked bored as she rummaged through her messenger bag. "I heard about your little rendezvous with the Blacks in the Library, naughty girl," he said chuckling. And Y/n would have liked very much given a good whack across his smug face but Slughorn had started the class. It was Thursday afternoon when Y/n was sitting down in the stands of the Quidditch pitch, Regulus was practising. He hadn't noticed her yet, they hadn't seen each other since that day in the library. Y/n looked around it wasn't really a crowd, but little did she know that Sirius was seated in a corner looking at her. He knew she was going to come today, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.He remembered in the third year, a match was going on Gryffindor vs Ravenclaws. Y/n and Sirius were sitting together and James had nearly just fallen off his broom, and Y/n had grasped Sirius's hand in fear. Sirius' cheeks flushed as he looked at their hands together, they fit perfectly.Y/n's eyes were fixed on the game when he looked up. She was biting her lower lip in concentration, and Sirius wanted to kiss her. But he didn't, he was scared and feeling very guilty. Now, he wished he had, it didn't matter if she would've pushed him off or pulled him closer. Sirius sat now and he saw the look on Y/n's face as she looked at Regulus. Had she ever looked at him like that? Would she ever? Regulus winked at Y/n as he sped past her, Sirius saw the goofy smile that flashed on her face. He smiled too, more on himself than anything else 'She loved Regulus', and walked away from the pitch. At dinner that night Sirius walked up to Y/n and sat down beside her when she raised an eyebrow. Sirius merely shrugged and smiled at her, and just like that they went back to the best friends they were, smiling and laughing, Sirius never made any awkward comments or gestures towards Y/n's and Regulus's relationship again. But he still loved her, till the very last moment of his life, somethings' are just better left unspoken.
