Bellamy walked over to where I was sitting and I stiffened in my seat. She stood very close to me and leaned her face close to mine. I blushed as she whispered into my ear.
"What was that...?" I whispered back. "I can't hear that well."
"I said we need to go to your cabin," Bellamy replied.
Her warm breath fannned over my ear and I inadvertently blushed.
"We need to what?"
"Go. to. your. room. together." She raised her eyebrows at me. "Didn't Tom tell you earlier this morning? We need to go through your clothes and a few other things."
"Oh- that- Yes, Tom told me. It must've slipped my mind.." I trailed off awkwardly and looked at a wall and the ceiling and the table and everywhere except Bellamy.
"What did you think I was-"
"We should probably get going so I don't occupy too much of your day," I interrupted.
"Don't worry about that, I figured we'd be spending a lot of time today and I need to show you the ropes. Quite literally." Bellamy finally sat down beside me instead of standing too close, before continuing. "I have a lot to tell you about the ship and... a few other things."
"Okay..."
After a minute of silence she abruptly stood up.
"By the way, you're bad at changing the subject. And it's cute when you get flustered," Bellamy smiled a tiny smile and my face burned. "Like that," she said.
I watched her walk out before remembering that I was supposed to go with her to my room. Quickly jumping up, I ignored the looks I was getting and sprinted out of the galley. My cabin door was already open and Bellamy was lounging on my hammock.
"I... I didn't mean..." My breath was gone from going down part of the ladder and trying to find my way through the maze of trees. "I didn't mean to be rude when I changed the subject, I apologize. But I'd prefer if we focus on," I paused briefly, "other... things...?"
"Okay, Lila. Whatever you say," Bellamy replied.
"Thank you. So, I was curious, why exactly do we need to go through my clothes? Did you want me to try them all on?" I joked.
"No! N- No. Ahem. Uh, that- that won't be necessary," she said.
For the first time, Bellamy became flustered. I laughed in a kind way, and opened the small chest filled with my clothes.
"Lila?"
"Yeah?"
"Before we go to the clothes sorting and whatnot, there's something else we need to talk about."
"What is it...? Did I do something wrong?" I asked.
"No, of course not, you've only been here for two days," Bellamy chuckled. "It's about the ship, The Red Lady, and the whole... pirate thing..."
"Oh..."
"Were there any... uh.. more specific rumors or just the pirate thing...?" she asked me softly.
"That's the only one, pretty much. One lunatic was saying you guys time traveled or some crap," I laughed a little too loudly. "Everyone thought he was crazy."
"Oh. Well. That must've been Jack, wasn't it..?" Bellamy asked seriously.
"Uh, yeah, why?"
"He was not making it up. He used to be a member of the crew," she said.
"Not making it up?? Bell, what are you saying...?" I asked incredulously.
"This is a time traveling ship, Lila."
*a/n I apologize sincerely for the cringe at a few parts, and for using the words "smirked" and "chuckled." I realized it's the seventh chapter and I should probably move things along but I didn't know how to make it not cringey lol im trying my best lmao
I didn't intend for it to be this short, but I'll be updating pretty soon (within the next week and a half), and it felt like a good cliffhanger of sorts.
I'm so sorry I haven't been updating often at all, I have a LOT going on with school, sports, and other life issues so unfortunately my wattpad book with 3 people reading to this point hasn't been at the top of my list (I mean no offense w this, I'm rlly glad people are checking out my book and thankful for all of yall!!)
Anyways, don't mind my TEDtalk lolol. Thank you for reading, have a lovely day/afternoon/night!!*
