His and every other characters design is inspired by the Boom ones, I quite like them contrary to the many that hate them. (This doesn't include Knuckles' style though XD)
Sonic's shoes are slightly different, in the sense they've lost their golden buckles and gained stripes on the soles. He has fingerless gloves and bandages around his quills instead of arms and legs. He still has his neckerchief but has acquired an earring. On his wrist some of you true Sonic fans may have noticed that is indeed Chips Bracelet! Coming back to his neckerchief, there is lore behind it- but I'm not giving away spoilers! Note: on the middle of his socks are inhibitor rings, but he doesn't wear these in The Great War and On the Run. Sonic here is 16.
