Waking up in Harry's arms feeling safe and warm was now Draco's favorite thing in the world. This experience was new to him, and definitely something to get used to. Sleeping in on a Friday was especially nice, so Draco just cuddled up closer to Harry, whose grasp on Draco tightened.
"Good morning love", Harry rasped, burying his face into Draco's neck.
"Good morning... darling", Draco tested out.
"Darling? I like the sound of that."
Harry emphasized his point by leaving a trail of kisses down Draco's neck.
"This is nice. I like this."
"I like this too. I'm glad you stayed."
"I'm more than glad. What time do you have to go see your friend?"
"At 3. I'll help you collect your things, bring them back here, and then I'll head out? Did you want to come with me, or do you prefer to stay here and settle in? If you do want to stay, that is. It's your choice, love."
"I'll probably stay here and settle in. I have a lot more things than I need, so that needs to be sorted."
"That's fine. Would you like some breakfast?"
"Can we cuddle for a bit more first?"
"Anything for you."
Draco hid his smile in Harry's chest, but Harry could feel it. This felt right in a way that nothing else had in a long time.
Harry's second favorite place for Draco to be (the first is in his arms of course), was when he elegantly perched atop the kitchen counter. He loved to watch Harry cook and would help when he could, but he much preferred to watch. The way Harry moved about the kitchen was almost like a dance, and Draco was keen on memorizing the steps.
Amazing food aside, it was the simple gesture of Harry holding Draco's hand across the table that made his heart flutter. His decision to move in was solidified right then and there.
"I'll drive us?", Draco offered.
"Works for me."
They were in the midst of packing when there was a knock on Draco's door. Draco's worried expression was enough for Harry to push Draco behind him and open the door himself.
"Hello there, may I help you?"
"Hello Harry. I'm Narcissa Malfoy."
"Mother!"
Draco stepped out from behind Harry and hugged his mother tightly.
"I didn't know you'd be stopping by."
"I brought some of your things before Lucius got to them. I also wanted to meet Harry."
"It's a pleasure Mrs. Malfoy."
"Oh call me Narcissa please. Soon to once again be Black at this rate."
"Divorce Mother?", Draco asked, completely shocked.
"We'll discuss that later."
"I'm sure Sirius will be thrilled", Harry chimed in, lifting up a stack of four boxes and carrying them to the car.
"Sirius? You know my cousin."
"Harry James Potter Lupin Black at your service ma'am."
"Please tell me that is not written on your license?", Draco asked once Harry came back in.
"No, it's not. Just the first three names are."
"You're the one Sirius and... Lupin took in then."
"Remus, yes. My dads are wonderful."
"I do miss Sirius. The rest of the family is not so accepting, I'm sorry to say."
"Good riddance to all of them honestly."
"Draco", Narcissa said, warning evident in her tone.
"I'm just gonna bring these to the car", Harry said, excusing himself for the time being.
"If they're not supportive of Harry and I, then I no longer wish to associate with them. Lucius has essentially disowned me, so I'm moving out before he gets me kicked out."
"Are you staying at one of the summer properties?"
"I'm moving in with Harry."
"Draco I think it may be a bit too soon for that. I'll talk to your father-"
"He's no longer my father. He made that choice. It doesn't matter how long I've known Harry. He feels right, and I'm pursuing my own happiness. You can't change my mind. I'm going to finish packing, and I'll leave you with my key."
"I can see there's no arguing with you."
"He made his choice. For once in my life, I'm making mine", Draco said, smiling at Harry through the door, waving him back in.
"I'm proud of you. I may not fully support this, but it's time to be your own person."
"That's all I ask Mother."
"Anything else I can do for you love?", Harry asked.
"There's a few more boxes on my bed to go to the car, the rest of the things my mother can take."
"Love?", Narcissa questioned once Harry was gone.
"Yes, he calls me love and he's absolutely perfect. I care for him deeply, and I know that he feels the same. He's letting me move at my own pace. When I'm ready, I'll ask him to be my boyfriend."
"Sorry to interrupt. Would you like me to put the rest of the boxes into your car, Narcissa?"
"Please Harry, if you don't mind."
"Not at all."
"You've packed almost all of them yourself, let me help."
"You can speak with your mother, it's fine. I don't mind a little manual labor."
"That's good because my Draco is quite a handful", Narcissa teased.
"Mother!"
"It's okay, I've got two hands", Harry replied with a wink, grabbing another stack of boxes.
"He's got quite the sense of humor."
"Harry is quite a lot of things", Draco agreed, grabbing a few of the heavier boxes.
"I'll take those from you love."
"Thank you darling. She likes you, you know."
"I'm honored."
"You should be", Draco teased, wrapping his arms around Harry's neck. "She doesn't like many people."
Harry's hands slipped to Draco's hips.
"I didn't know how comfortable you were with affection in front of others."
"I don't care anymore, as long as it's with you", Draco whispered, leaning in to kiss Harry softly.
"I'll never get tired of you doing that. Let's finish up, yeah?"
Harry caught Narcissa alone for a moment, slipping her a piece of paper.
"My contact information, just in case."
"Thank you Harry. Please take care of my son."
"I will, I promise. Draco means the absolute world to me."
"And you, him."
