I groaned as my mom drove me to clementine high school, my new school. Having to move multiple times because of my mom's job wasn't fun. I was the only one who hated being the new kid, my brother on the other hand, loved it. Logan was thirteen and couldn't wait to get new friends. My mom mostly paid attention to him because I was mostly a time consuming child. I had multiple problems, including depression, insomnia, and borderline personality disorder. All of which I was medicated for. I also saw a therapist twice a week and had to check in with my school counselor. Because of all these things I wasn't a popular kid and didn't make friends easily.
I sighed as mom pulled in front of the middle school, Logan hopped out of the car and said goodbye to mom. Mom pulled out of the middle school parking lot and started to drive to the high school. "Look honey, this is a fresh start for all of us. Maybe you'll make friends and maybe even meet a guy." I scoffed at that. No one was ever interested in me.
Mom parked the car and I saw everyone staring. I groaned and my palms felt clammy. Maybe I could fake an epileptic seizure and not have to go through today. I got out of the car and looked at my Dr martens, I felt everyone staring and started to walk along side my mom Into the school to the office.
My conseulor was waiting there with my new therapist and a girl, who I'm guessing is going to show me around the school. My conseulor, mrs. Sanders, smiled. "Hello violet, this is Alexandria she'll be showing you around. I nodded and looked down. Mr. Fitz, my therapist, gave me a small smile. "You don't have to worry, Vi. Alexandria is a nice girl." I glared at my conseulor with a Burning hatred, mad that he was treating me like a five year old. I sighed. Mom said goodbye and left to talk with my conseulor and therapist, leaving me with Alexandria.
"Dang girl, what did you do to get so much security? I mean, you can't be normal and have a therapist and a conseulor check in with you weekly." She said. I looked at the ground, embarrassed. She must of sensed it. "I'm sorry, that was rude. I'll show you to your locker. Here's your schedule and combination by the way." She said handing me a slip of paper.
We walked out of the office and towards the senior hall, where most of the senior classes and lockers were located. "So where you from?" She asked. "I was born in New York but I just moved from A small town in Oregon. We move around a lot..." I said. "Oh, I'm sorry. I would hate to move from place to place, always being the new kid." She said. I nodded. "It's hard but you get use to it." I said shrugging. "So, you have any siblings?" "Yeah, a brother. He's thirteen." "That must be nice, I have a sister, she's my only sibling. But I live with a lot of people so it feels like I have a lot of siblings." She said. "So like you live in like a boarding house?" I asked. She smiled. "Yeah, sort of."
We stopped at locker 278. "This is your locker, all the teachers put the books you'll need and stuff in there already. I also drew you a map of the school, diagram A is floor one and diagram B is floor two. You have three class down here and four classes jupstairs." Alexandria explained.
A guy with black hair walked by, he had to be at least nineteen, and winked at Alexandria, she giggled and looked away, blushing. "Who's that?" I asked. "Oh that's my ma- I mean, that's my boyfriend Luke, he's the assistant Coach for football, basketball, and soccer. He also helps out with PE. He graduated last year from here." She said. "Oh. I thought he looked older." I said. "Yeah, a lot of people don't get why he is dating me." She said shrugging. "They think he can get any other girl and he fell in love with me. A lot of the girls here think I'm plain but eh, whatever." "Honestly, I don't get why he wouldn't like you, you seem really cool and nice." I said. She smiled. "Hey, if you don't have anyone else to sit with at lunch, you can sit with me and my friends. I think they'll like you." Alexandria offered. I nodded, "I'd like that." She smiled, "okay well I'll see you in French." She said and turned around and walked away.
I started to put stuff away when a blonde girl came up to me, glaring. The usual snooty popular blonde. "Who are you and why were you talking to Alexandria?" She snapped. "Um... I'm violet. I'm new here. She was showing me around..." I said. She rolled her eyes and stomped away. I sighed and closed my locker and started to walk to history.
