"Edgar?" He was awoken by a poking at his side.

Colette.

"Huh? What's going on?" He questioned.

"We... um... we... fell." She said, looking guilty.

"Where?" He asked.

"To... the... um... The North Pole." She replied, looking at him.

"What? Are you ok, Colette? The North Pole doesn't exist."

"Well, Edgar. That's where you are wrong. Look."

And so he did. The edgelord looked around him.

Houses that looked like gingerbread surrounded the streets filled with snow.

Gumdrops were everywhere, and candy grew from trees. People ran about, on snowboards smiling while they slid down the hills.

Shops lined the busy streets, all Christmas-themed.

Shopkeepers stood around and rang bells, signaling they were selling various Christmas goodies.

The whole place had an air of magic and mystery throughout it.

It made Edgar feel strange.

Happy, but strange.

"Colette... is this related to those "crystals?" He asked putting emphasis on the last word. In all honesty, he didn't trust crystals.

"Edgar... I'm sorry. It's my fault..."

"What is your fault?" Edgar questioned.

"I... I'm the one that sent us here. I wanted to help you. I was trying to find crystals that would balance energy."

"And? What does that have to do with anything?"

"I... I picked up one that was meant to give me information and knowledge from other realms... but I guess it took the meaning of "other realms" too literally and now we are here..."

"Well, can we go back?" Edgar asked.

"I don't know. I hope, but I'm not sure." She admitted.

"I'm so sorry Edgar, I just wanted this to be a perfect day. Instead, I ruined it."

"Whatever. I was just going to skip this birthday anyway." Edgar shrugged.

Colette moved closer to him.

"Here. Take this." She handed him a purple crystal.

Edgar didn't know what to do with it.

"Uh, thanks?" He questioned.

"This is an Amethyst. It's supposed to purify your energy and help with emotions." She said.

"Thanks," Edgar replied.

"Of course." She wrapped her arms around him.

"I um, why are you hugging me?" He asked.

"Because I don't know what to do. And I'm sorry I dragged us both into this mess."

"Colette, it's alright. And besides, I get to spend more time with you." Edgar gave a small smile, clutching the amethyst in his hand.

"Well... let's focus on getting out of here," Edgar said.

"Yeah."

"Before we do so... I have a question. Why did you not want me coming closer to you?"

"Well... I've been here before with the Lapis Lazuli crystal since it is supposed to open your third eye. And that was the crystal that sent us here..."
