Chapter 14

"Good morning, Los Angeles Country Day. Hope you all have your costumes ready. because the seniors have secured-"

"Psst. Hey." Someone calls from my right-hand side. I lazily perk up to look at Elle. "Yeah?"

"Can you call Rachel for me?" She asked, motioning her head to Rachel who sat beside me at my left.

Of course, I am a little bit mad at her for making Marco upset yesterday, but that was between the both of them and who knows maybe Elle is having a tough time too?

I give her a nod and whispered to Rachel. When she looked up I pointed my finger to Elle, Rachel glanced from me to her and she simply nodded, as a sign of saying thank you I guess. I then put my head down, continuing my notes. However, I still can hear their conversation.

"Where's Lee?" Elle whispered to her, I assumed Rachel gave her a shrug because I could still see from the corner of my eye. 

"- a special venue for the Halloween gala next weekend! Our quote for the day is brought to you by William Shakesp- what the..."

A harsh shuffling was heard in the intercom. My ears perked up when the feedback whined.

"Give it back! Don't, Lee!- Sorry. I'm sorry. Vivian!- Give. It. Back! Bad Lee!- I'm so sorry I just- Vivian, please, please! I'm sorry I just need a second."

What the hell is going on?

"Thank you."

What do these two best friends have with the speakers?

"Hey, Rachel it's me, Lee. Lee Flynn."

Rachel's head slowly lifts up. Clearly is surprised by Lee's big surprise.

"Look, I'm uh- I am totally getting detention for this, but it's worth it because I just really needed to talk to you."

Well, this should be interesting. Alright let me hear this, I'm bored with doing my notes anyway.

"I am so, so sorry about everything that happened, but most importantly, I wanted you to know something."

What? Did you leave your keys in her car or something?

"I never told you this before, but..."

You left your ps4 in her home.

"I love you, Rachel."

Goddamn it, I should've guessed. I can almost hear people's gasp in the classroom, shocked about what they're hearing.

"And I'm really hoping that you love me too."

Now isn't this a surprise?

But honestly, what a way to tell someone you love them. Is in front of the whole school.

I don't know if I should be impressed or embarrassed. But by the looks of Rachel, I'm sure she is just really shocked about what he said right now.

"So would you please text me a smiley face emoji for yes and a poop emoji for no, please?"

I had to laugh, a couple of people laughed too. I grinned, turning back to Rachel, she was picking up her phone with a serious look on her face. I'm not sure if that's a good sign but hey, who knows what she'll say?

Everybody waited for the girl Lee confessed her undying love to send him an emoji to find out. 

We heard another voice coming through the intercom. "Alright, Mr. Flynn. The show's over. Let's go. Time for detention."
