Ch. 1 - Lost Girl

A soft knock echoes from the inside of the Mikaelson's home. A young Niklaus groans as he sat up from his bed and look around. His fellow siblings asleep in their bed before hearing another knock. He stands up and move towards his older brother Elijah, shaking him awake.

"Niklaus? Why are you awake?" He asks groggily before Niklaus could answer, they both heard another knock. Elijah stood up and walk out of their room followed by his brother who hid behind him in case. They made it soon to the door before opening it as a young girl looks up at them. Her skin pale as snow like her short hair, bright blue eyes stare at them showing the fear, her dress dirty and slightly torn, and her red rose lips quiver from the cold.

She immediately runs and hugs Elijah's waist shocking the two brothers as they look at each other confused. She sobs holding him tightly as Elijah closes the door behind her before crouching down to her level. She looks to be the same age as Niklaus. He was confused on why such a young girl would run towards their house at the middle of the night alone.

"Are you alright?" Elijah asks moving a piece of hair from her face seeing the beauty. She whimpers in response before shaking her head. Her body shaking from either cold or fear which the two brothers can't really tell.

"Elijah, she's hurt." Niklaus whispers noticing the scratches on her knees. Elijah immediately carries her in his arms as she held onto him before he places her on their table. She checks at the scratches just to see that it wasn't too fatal, he checks more on her body making sure that they have no wounds as well, but he couldn't find any.

"Niklaus, get some water and a rag." Elijah looks at him before back at her as Niklaus nodded running out of the house with a bowl. The young girl wipes her tears that keeps flowing from her eyes as she sniffles. Elijah takes her small hands into his, warming them up with his own heat before giving them a comforting kiss to relax her which it did.

"It's okay, no need to be afraid anymore. You are safe now." He tells her and gave a comforting smile as the young girl nodded her head feeling safe and secure. Niklaus comes back holding a bowl of water and place it on the table near her before grabbing a rag and giving it to Elijah.

Elijah let's go of her hands as he dips the rags in the bowl before taking care of her scraped knees wiping away the blood and dirt before cleaning her up. Once one of her knees are clean, Niklaus gave it a kiss while Elijah cleans the other before finishing as Niklaus did the same thing on her other knee which made her smile and blush slightly from the gesture. Niklaus looks back at her seeing her smile which made him smile as well.

Elijah chuckles at his young brother before taking the bowl and throwing the dirty water out their house. He shuts the door behind him and place the bowl back to where Niklaus as taken them.

"Are you hungry?" Niklaus asks her and the young girl nodded. Before he could move, a door opens as the two brothers tenses and looks to see their mother. They softly sigh with relief knowing it is not their father they had just woken up.

"Niklaus, Elijah, why are you two not in your room? Who is this?" She asks motioning the young girl on the table who shyly looks down to her hands staying silent.

"She came here mother. She's lost." Elijah informs her as their mother looks at the young girl and took pity. She feel the fear radiating off of her and the pain.

"Oh poor child. You must be starving." She sighs before fixing her a meal. Elijah walks next to his brother and watch as their mother fed the young girl. The young girl eats the food as she stayed sitting before finishing her food. Their mother turns to put the bowl away as Elijah cleans the young girl's lips.

"Bring her inside your rooms. We'll discuss more with your father tomorrow." She tells them and they nodded.

"Come here love." Elijah carries her and she wraps her arms around his neck immediately. The three entered their rooms as their mother smiles before entering hers. Elijah places the young girl on the cloth the bed before laying next to her. Niklaus lays down to where he was before and falls asleep as Elijah takes care of the young girl.
