Ch. 2 - Fear

10 years later——(Warning: Mention of Rape) (Do not read for your own risk)

Faye has grown to a beautiful kind woman, her beauty outshines almost every women in their village which made them envy of her. She helps her fellow villagers and family and made sure everyone is okay. Elijah and Niklaus admires her as she carries a basket of fruits to a fellow villager.

"She has grown to be a beautiful one brother." Niklaus sighs staring at her.

"Have you grown affectionate to our sister?" Elijah asks looking at him as Niklaus scoff.

"Of course not, she's our sister." He tells him and Elijah raises a brow which caused Niklaus to look at him confused.

"What?"
"I can sense a lie."
"Believe what you want." He mutters and notices a man talking to Faye. She turns to look at him as the man smiles and spoke to her which made her blush. Niklaus felt his chest burning with jealousy as he made his way towards them and Elijah notices it.

"Niklaus! Don't do-" Elijah stops himself when he notices the man touching Faye and she backs away immediately. He immediately went to her as did Niklaus.

"What is going on here?" Elijah asks with a frown on his face as he tries to mask his anger while glaring at the man.

"I have cane to talk with Faye if you mind giving us some privacy." The man reaches for Faye who backs away and hid behind Elijah which the two had notice.

"It seems our sister does not want your attention. Leave." Niklaus glares as the man glares back before backing away and leaving.

"Are you alright?" Elijah turns to look at her seeing the same fear in her eyes. He puts his hand on her cheek gaining her attention as he lips quiver. Elijah resist the urge as he instead kisses her head which made Niklaus jealous.

"Come on Faye, let us head home." Niklaus says smiling a bit as the two pulled away and Faye takes Niklaus's hand. He led her back home leaving Elijah to stand there for a mere two second before following them.

Night has fallen as Faye slept between Niklaus and Elijah who are wide awake. They both stared at the ceiling in deep thought.

"Elijah, may I ask you something?" Niklaus mutters softly not wanting to wake the others up.

"What is it Niklaus?"
"Did you feel a burning sensation in your chest...when that man was talking to Faye?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Curiosity." Niklaus mutters and silence has taken over them.

"I did not, only anger towards the man." He finally answers and Niklaus looks at him then at Faye.

"Did you feel such burning sensation?" Elijah asks as he turns to look at him and Klaus did as well.

"Possibly."
"She is our sister, Niklaus. You know that."
"Not by blood." Niklaus mutters as he looks at Faye.

"Father would not approve of it."
"I do not care what he thinks. All I care about is Faye and her happiness. You saw the fear in her eyes when the man was to touch her." Niklaus says as he sat up to look at his brother. Elijah sighs as he stayed silent not wanting to say anything anymore.

"And you holding her that close was no brotherly love. You do not do that with Rebekah as I do not too." Niklaus tells him and Elijah turns away.
