Alyssa lay peacefully in the flower field, the birds were singing, the sun was shining brightly, and the wind was blowing across the field, but she was so engrossed in her thoughts with her eyes closed that she didn't notice a special someone was watching her sleep.
"Please don't stare at me, you're making me blush," she said shyly.
"Why are you preventing me from staring at your goddess-like beauty?" he asked as he continued to stroke her hair.
She stood up and sat down, smiling and chuckling, "Oh, stop. I'm not that beautiful, I'm just an ordinary beauty. I'm sure there are other girls who have goddess-like beauty, but not me," she said with a sigh.
"But, you are beautiful," he said as he raised her chin and looked her in the eyes.
"I know you're just trying to cheer me up, and I appreciate it, but no one has ever complimented me," she said, her knees tightly hugged.
"What I said wasn't meant to cheer you up; it was the truth. You are beautiful, and you don't need to compare yourself to others because you have your own beauty to show," he said softly.
"Thank you, what would I do without you, but I still don't know if someone would like a girl like me," she said as she leaned against his shoulder, tears streaming down her face.
"Someone likes you Alyssa," he continued, raising her chin once more. "Perhaps that person hasn't had the courage to tell you face to face yet."
"Let's face it, I'm not likeable," she complained, sighed heavily.
"I like you," he softly murmured.
The atmosphere became quiet after he muttered, fortunately Alyssa didn't listen to what he was saying. He sighed, looking at her from the side, as they continued to stare at the sunset.
LMU DORMITORY
"It must be a good book," Camille unexpectedly said, bringing Alyssa back to reality. She stared at them and nodded sadly.
"That was it for a moment," she closes the book, sighs, crosses her arms and mutters.
Camille asks "What is the story about?"
"It's about a man who can transform from a dog to a human and he fell in love with his owner. This was illegal in their world because it violated the law," she explained. "The girl wakes up on this faithful day with long wavy hair, diamond-like eyes, a masculine figure, and a cute face that slept right next to her, until he wakes up."
"That sounds interesting," said Camille, who sounded interested in books.
"Yes, that's right. I'm on page 30. He wanted to tell the girl how he truly feels, but something stopping him from doing so," she shouted with excitement. Alyssa explained.
"Why is that?" Asks Camille.
"It's the law of the shapeshifter world, since the two worlds are enemies, and when a shapeshift falls in love with a human, either chooses to die or never see each other again," she said. Alyssa explains to complain.
