Jelyn p.o.v
Jelyn sprang from her seat, yelling, "What the heck did you say!"
"They solved the case regarding you being the killer," Leif stated, "but they're still not convinced if you're the one who did it."
"Who was the first to solve the case?" she inquires, her brows furrowed.
He said, "Camille Cornell."
"Let's simply murder Camille," Jelyn replied, a smirk on her lips, "so the rest won't know I was the one who did it."
"It's not going to be simple," he continued, "they've already phoned the cops and hired an excellent detective to track you down. How are we supposed to murder her?" he wondered. "If we eliminate her, they'll know it's you."
"You're right, but what if we abducted the investigator instead of Camille?" she murmured devilishly, her hands crossed in front of her lips.
"Say less, the lads have already tracked down the investigator and are ready to abduct her in 3,2,1!" Leif said as he pointed to his watch. "Mission accomplished, Jelyn," he added proudly. "They're on their way."
Jelyn sprang to her feet and dashed towards Leif, who caught her by the waist as she kissed him on the cheeks. "Ooh, I knew you could do it," she said gleefully.
After she kissed him, Leif seemed agitated. "Of course, I did it just for you my lady," he added.
"You always humble yourself, and I appreciate that," she remarked gently as she hugged him again.
"You constantly do this because it's your job," she remarked, rolling her eyes. "It's not for me, but it's your job."
"However, my job is not the same as what I do for you, dear lady," Leif explained.
"Leif, no, no!" she cried as she drew away from the hug. "You can't keep doing this, you know that. I love someone else, and it's not you."
"But, I love you-" she interrupted him before he could continue, "No, you don't. I know, that's not how you feel because you just love me for what I love to do," she said.
"But, I thought we had something, a connection; why can't you love me?" he said, irritated.
"Don't raise your voice at me!" she cried, pointing at him. "We weren't a thing to begin with, I don't love you, and we don't have a "connection," she said. "END. OF. DISCUSSION," she continued, her voice rising.
"FINE!" he cried angrily as he rushed out of her office, murmuring, "I'm going to finish this once and for all, and you're going to repent everything."
•Back at the hospital•
"All good, I already patched your forehead wound, and that should stop the bleeding," the emergency department nurse stated.
"Thank you, nurse," Elvira says. "How long will it take for the wound to heal? Is there any ointment we need use when the patch is removed?"
