I was trying on the fifth dress that caught my eye, and I was twirling around in the mirror before I decided to go out and allow Afeni and my grandmother to give their verdict. The lace sleeves were so delicate, and the beads and embroidery were exquisite. My soul was pushed towards an elegant, muted lavender mermaid-style wedding dress with gorgeous lace sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, and beading for days.

"This is it...."

I whispered the words to myself as the tear fell from my eye.

"It's a perfect fit." The fitter had pulled the ribbon to the corset to a snuggly fit. As I ran my hand across the beads on the dress, I fell deeper in love with it. The fitter pulled the cord to open the curtain, and as I walked the runway to the center of the stage, my grandmother and Afeni immediately began to swoon.

"Oh, my goodness!!!! Ladybug, you look beautiful!!!!" Nana wasted no time running up to the stage with her hankie in tow.

"I have to agree with Connie. You look gorgeous, doll!!!" Afeni and Nana were both dabbing away tears. I was standing in the mirror, and every angle was perfect.

The designer, a gorgeous redbone woman, was personally helping us with the fitting because she was also doing Clarissa and Amina's dresses. She walked up and placed the cathedral-style veil on me, and it was like the look was complete. When she stepped to the side to show me the complete look, I burst into tears. I was so happy, I could scream.

"This dress is from my new, super-secret Spring line that will be in stores at the start of the new year. The design for this dress came to me in a dream, and my fingers went to work with my imagination driving!! This is a one-of-a-kind dress, and you're a perfect fit!! It's like the Goddess sent you my way for a reason!!" Jolene, the designer, was pumping my head up, and a wide smile came across my face to match hers. She hugged my shoulders from behind, and whispered in my ear,

"Are you saying yes to the dress, Luna?"

I giddily shook my head to the fact that the search was over. I turned around and all three of them gave me a round of applause.

"Oh, stop it! I'm already floating!!! I can't wait for Trent to see it!!!" I began my journey back to the dressing room, and the frantic wake-up call from Duke this morning popped back into my mind. I don't know what it was about, or why Trent hurriedly dressed and ran out the door. All I know is that before running out he told me to just focus on my dress fittings with his mother and Nana. The fitter helped me out of the dress, then took it away to get meticulously cleaned, Afeni's orders.

Before getting dressed, I grabbed my phone from my bag and called Trent. I was checking out my curvy frame in the mirror while I waited for him to answer, and he didn't, which was a first. So, I hung up and tried again, but instantly got nervous when he didn't respond the second time. I hung up the phone and tried to mind-link, and nothing. Now, I was in a wide-spread panic. I quickly got dressed and calmed myself before I walked out. The last thing I wanted to do was alarm Nana and Afeni.

As I walked out of the dressing room, I saw Afeni and Nana checking out some dresses when my phone chimed. I hurriedly retrieved my phone, and my heart was calmed when I saw that it was Trent. He apologized for missing my call and explained to me that there had been an accident involving Quincy and Damian. I didn't know who they were, but they had to have been of some importance. He also let me know that his father was at the hospital with him, and a fight almost broke out between him and Duke. The beginning days of my first Luna Moon festival were not as sweet as I had hoped.

"What's wrong, honey? You got a face on you that could worry the surest man." Afeni walked up to me, and I clicked out of the message in case she accidentally read anything. I didn't know what she knew, but she wasn't going to hear any breaking news from me.
