Jake's POV
=========
"What are you thinking?!" Awe hell. This is just great. I shuddered as she yelled at me. "Putting your face on TV! Kissing another boy ON TV! What will everyone think of us now?!" She looked at my dad with wide eyes. He didn't say anything, instead glaring at me. My parents had always had a high reputation considering my father had been a pastor at my town's church since the moment they moved here. After I tried to come out as gay they immediately did everything they could to cover it up, finding their reputation more important than anything else in town. "Oh what will the town think of us now?! We'll never be seen the same way ever again!" My mom continued to cry out in fear. My dad set his stuff down and hugged her. "Go to your room Jake. Don't even think about coming out for lunch or dinner until you change up with this phase of yours." He scolded, staring holes through me with imperfect blue eyes. I couldn't think to do anything but scoff and do as I was told. I walked upstairs to see Tom standing in my doorway. I ushered him further into my room and shut my door behind me.

Tom's POV
=========
After going upstairs I heard yelling. Moments later Jake scoffed and I saw him trudge upstairs. Seeing me in his doorway he ushered me into his room, shutting it behind him. Making his way across the room he sat down at the foot of his bed, leaving me to follow in suit and sit next to him. "Who was that?" I asked, pulling my mask off again. He groaned, putting his head in his hands and falling back into his bed. "They saw. My parents saw us on Tv. They came back from their trip early to shame me for it." He spread his arms out over his head in frustration. With my hands behind my head I laid back next to him and turned my head to make eye contact. "Oh. They don't like that you…" I trailed off, not sure how to word the rest of my sentence. I assume he guessed my general question, nodding in response before moving his hands into his stomach and looking up at the ceiling. I moved one hand from under my head to hold his hand that was closest to me. With that he sighed "You'll have to leave before they see you here." He sounded heart broken. I could understand why. I didn't want to leave him either. That's when we heard footsteps come upstairs and he turned to me. "Get under the bed." I nodded and did so.
     The door opened and I saw someone barge into the room. "I cannot BELIEVE YOU Jake! Now people from the church are questioning your father! What do you have to-....say for yourself?" The woman turned towards my stuff. Shit, we'd forgotten to hide that as well. She walked over and picked up my boots. "Mom, wait-" I saw Jake stand up and go over to the woman. The woman dropped my boots and shoved him away. "Who the hell are these?! Are you keeping the little boy toy you met on Tv in here with you?!" She scolded. Jake backed up as she stormed out of his room, slamming the door and walking downstairs. Jake sighed as I got out from under the bed. Jake looked at his door, going over to hug me. I rubbed his back, letting him slump onto me. "Is this why you participated for the money?" I asked after a few moments. There was a small nod in response. I hummed, feeling Jake rub his forehead against the fabric of my shirt before letting go of the hug. "I did save up some money but it's not enough." He said, picking up the bag he had packed for the show. I tilted my head a little in confusion. He put a few things into the bag and closed it. "It may not be good to do it with you here but I did plan to run away if I didn't win the money." He confessed. Sighing, I picked up my bag and put my things back in it. "Alright. Then you're running away. I'll help you." I pulled a jacket out of my bag before closing it. Jake's eyes widened as I put on the jacket and pulled the hood over my head. "Really?!" He almost looked excited as I nodded.  He ran up and hugged me, almost knocking both of us over. The door slammed open again and his mother looked at us clearly pissed off. "Jake you will NOT leave this house with that THING you call your boyfriend." She yelled. Jake panicked, looking at me. I'm not usually offended but this woman seemed like a whole different kind of offensive.
