It was a strange feeling, the one that Adhara had when she entered the old dusty pub. It felt like home, like she had known the place for all her life, but she had only known it for 5 years. She went to Diagon Alley with professor McGonagall to buy her things, as Mrs. Leighton wouldn't want to go to "Such a nasty place, with monsters like yourself" as she phrased it very well. It all happened when they were leaving the Alley, the old woman stopped by the counter with little Addie by her side to ask Mr. Abbott if he could give her a ride to King's Cross as it was her first year, and like that she met her other half, Thomas Abbott. When they met, at first the little boy wasn't to kin on her going with them, but when she responded to his insults, he just couldn't help liking her, she was different. From that day on, they became best friends. Thomas put her under his wing the first weeks of school, showing her around and presenting her to his friends, until she made some of her own. Now, every year, a week before the start of term Mr. Abbott would go to Sufferwell to pick her up, and she would spent that whole week with the older boy bickering and strutting through the streets of London, helping Mr. A at the pub or just playing and chatting in their rooms.

"Addie!" the brunette heard and a mop of light blonde hair was covering her face.

"Tommy, I know you missed me but that is no reason for you to strangle me to death you know?"

"Oh would you shut up!" As he separated from her she was able to see that he had grown. Thomas Abbott had always been a beautiful young man, but oh lord how good 16 years old had done to him. He was a tall thin boy, with long blonde hair almost like the Australian surfers all the girls at the orphanage were crazy about, he had ocean-like eyes and his smile could make anyone faint "Come on let me help you get that to your room".

"Same as always?" Adhara asked with a smile as he let the boy grab her trunk.

"You know it, room 321" he winked at her as he followed her upstairs.

"Don't even say hi to your father Tom, please there is no necessity" Mr. A was already behind the counter.

"Oh lord Dad, you left just two minutes ago" he rolled his eyes as he entered the all too familiar room.

"I love your Dad, you know that right?" The young girl was already in the bed. That was her room, the first one she had ever had, even before the one in the orphanage. Tom had decided the number, in honor of her birthday, March the 21st, just like him's which was the one next to hers 320, as his birthday was a day before hers, March the 20th.

"Yeah I know, I do too" he smiled as he laid down next to her "How was it at Sufferwell?" he didn't look at her, nor did she, as she took a long breath.

"Same as always, but a bit worse, a lot of insults, some hits, but I hit back you know? No man is ever going to make less of me, I can assure you of that".

"That tosspot of Morrison again?" This time the boy turned his head to look at her.

"Yeah, in fact your Dad saved me from probably getting beat up again by him and his band"

"For Merlin's sake Adhara, why do you keep getting yourself in these situations?" he sighed, concern washing his face.

"He was about to beat up a little girl Thomas, what do you want me to do? Stand aside and watch as he beats up some innocent kid just because? I can't do that and you know it" she sat up looking him straight in the eyes.

"I know you can't, that's what I love about you, but I can't help wanting you to be safe Addie, you are one of the most important things in my life" he sat up too looking at her the same way she was.

"I know you do, but now I am safe, here with you and your Dad" she smiled wrapping her arms around his torso "I love you too" he wrapped his arms around her too, as he smiled in the embrace.

"I'll leave you to go through your things and check you have everything, I'll be waiting downstairs so we can go walk around Diagon Alley" Thomas got up and got out of the room leaving Adhara to her thoughts.

The week passed just as she had expected, laughing and eating ice cream wandering around the old part of London. Before she knew it she was being woken up by a large body falling over her.

"THOMAS FOR GODRIC'S SAKE!" the brunette shouted huffing as she pushed the boy off of her "You have to stop doing that!"

"Oh shut it Addie, you know you love it" he winked at her while laying on his side, already fully dressed with some ripped jeans and a "Fire whisky 1972" shirt that was a bit too big for him "Now wake up young girl, and get dressed, we start school today"

"That's not true, we do not start today, we get there today" she corrected while getting up herself and grabbing the clothes that hanged on the chair "Now get out you pervert and let me get dressed"

"All right woman, lord 15 really got you mad. I'll be waiting downstairs with a cup of coffee so be quick we have one hour till the train leaves" Tom walked out of the room running to the main pub, which was closed for the day while he helped his father prepare breakfast. Meanwhile Adhara got dressed, David Bowie's jumper in hand, this time it was a dark gray zip jumper with the words "Lady Stardust" written in black and red in the back. Once she finished the girl went down to have her warm coffee with a tear of milk. She didn't notice it, but as she descended through the stairs, the young blonde boy was watching her in awe. Thomas Abbott always knew she was a pretty girl, but somehow she had gotten prettier during summer, her freckles had doubled, her fractions got mature and her body started to change. He shook those thoughts from his mind while he gave her the coffee.

"Chop chop kids" Mr Abbott appeared from behind the counter with two brown paper bags "Here you have your lunch and some snacks for the ride" he handed them the bags "Do you both have your trunks ready?"

"Yes Mr A" Adhara cheerfully said while taking a sip of her coffee.

"Yeah Dad, all ready to leave, I also have my bag here already, isn't that amazing?" the young boy said with a mischievous smile.

"Well yes it actually is, seeing as for the past five years we almost arrived late because of you" the older man had his wand on hand, as he made both trunks go down.

"Very funny Dad, very funny"

"Well he is not wrong, is he?" The brunette was smiling smugly as she finished her coffee, grabbing her shoulder bag and her jumper in one hand and her trunk in the other.

"You are not helping Adhara" Thomas did the same as she, grabbing his things and standing both sides of his dad they aparated to an alley next to King's Cross station.

"Wasn't my intention to help Tommy" she winked at the boy while walking straight towards the entrance of the station. It was packed with people, some were clearly muggles going to work or for a small trip to the countryside, while others were clearly wizards from pureblood families, not used to the amount of muggles in the station. As they arrived at the brick wall that was the entrance to Platform 9 ¾ both teenagers looked at each other with crazy smiles and ran towards it, with Jarvis Abbott hot in their tail.

"What have I told you both about doing that?" the bald man said, painting as he tried to catch his breath.

"Not to do it, but we can't help it, can we now Addie?" the boy said, looking at his father with an innocent look.

"Tommy is right Mr. A, it is like a tradition!" the girl smiled big.

"You both are going to be the death of me someday you know that right?" Mr. Abbott grabbed them both and hugged them with all the strength he had. "I'll miss you both you little devils" he let them go "Take care Addie, please, I don't want to receive another letter from Professor McGonagall" he looked at her sternly.

"I swear I'll try, but I can't promise anything Mr. A" she smiled at him while hugging him one last time "I'll miss you too"

"Alright enough, go get your friends, I am sure they are dying to see you, have a nice year honey" he kissed her forehead and with the last smile she ran towards the train, without noticing both Abbott men looking at her.

"I will take care of her Dad I promise" the young blonde said.

"I know you will son, you always do"
