The large group of onlookers had returned to Hogwarts and found themselves back in the pensieve where they left off.The scene showed Harry lying on his bed facing the ceiling.
There came an odd noise, almost like a car engine, from outside the window, causing Harry to shoot up.
It was only when he looked out of the window that he saw a blue car, and out of the passenger window was Ron Weasley’s face.
Naturally, this caused a cheer amongst the crowd of onlookers. A cheer which got louder when the twins heads popped out the windows as well.
The group then watched as the twins and Ron helped pull the bars off of Harry’s windows, before then climbing into the room (which was met by another chorus of cheers).
After all of Harry’s stuff had been gathered together, something which had proved agonising to the audience in the pensieve as they feared the Dursley’s would wake up, they all began to get back into the car.
It was only as Harry was loading Hedwig into the car, when the sound of Vernon waking up and waddling towards Harry’s room, could be heard.
They all watched in apprehension as Harry tried to pull himself up and out of the window whilst Vernon desperately tried to unlock all the locks on Harry’s door.
He eventually burst into the room just as Harry was lifting himself up out of the window.
The onlookers gasped as Vernon made a move to grab Harry’s ankle.
Ron and the twins helped Harry safely into the car and with a yell to Fred to drive away quickly, the Weasley’s and Harry were able to make their escape from Privet Drive.
“Get in!” exclaimed James as he watched the younger version of his son in the car on the way to the Burrow.
The scene shifted to show the four boys entering the Burrow and being met with an angry Mrs Weasley.
“Have you any idea how worried I’ve been?” said Mrs Weasley in a deadly whisper.
“Sorry, Mum, but see, we had to-”
"Note, don't get on the wrong side of Molly," shuddered James, causing Lily to hit him across the back of the head.
Fred and George just chuckled in agreement as their mother sent them a glare. Something Mr Weasley was oblivious too as he smiled at the twins.
The group watched slightly amused as Molly scolded her three youngest sons, who were all taller than her but still incredibly terrified.
“Beds empty! No note! Car gone… could have crashed… out of my mind with worry.”
“Oh dear,” muttered Mr Weasley softly.
“YOU COULD DO WITH TAKING A LEAF OUT OF PERCY’S BOOK!”
“Well, that aged well,” Ginny whispered softly, causing Percy to turn bright red and a few laughs to spread through the group.
“I’m pleased to see you, Harry, dear.”
“Brilliant,” said a grinning Sirius as he watched Mrs Weasley turn a delicate shade of red, and the Weasley twins muttered ‘favouritism.’
They all then watched Harry’s time at the Burrow, something which couldn’t help but make Lily and James smile. Their son was actually happy, happy in a place that wasn’t Hogwarts.
Lily watched the way Mrs Weasley made sure Harry was properly fed, she watched the way he became one of the family and she couldn’t help but be overcome with tears. So, there was little surprise when Lily went up to Mrs Weasley, placed her hands on the older woman’s shoulders and brought her into a big hug.
