Chapter 9~ New friend!

My week went on without any drama, Ayra was back in two days later much to my dismay; I don't quite trust her after what phoebe told me. Along with being able to read her dark thoughts. I just went along with her laughing and smiling. Phoebe knew something was wrong but I assured her I was ok, She left it alone but she still wanted to know what was wrong.

Since I ruined Oscars car i've frequently been giving him lifts so he decided to give me something in return. I sat in his car poking his arm over and over again to get it out of him.

"I'm not going to tell you." poke "Poke me one more time and i'll blindfold you so you can see where we are going at all" what do you expect me to do? I poked him . " Right that's it!" He pulled over with traffic racing past us and pulled out a scarf from the glove compartment. "here we go" and he tied it around my eyes. I made a slit throat action and pointed to him. He obviously saw when he replied "Remember I cold just turn around and you can never see what I'm going to get you" He knew my weak spot... Curiosity! Damn him.

"We are here" he chuckle at my obvious smile and I yanked off the scarf and looked up at a sign in bold letters stating 'DOG'S FOR RE-HOMING-NEW PUPPIES' I squealed and hugged him tight. "I knew you would like it" I grinned and me. I grabbed him hand and dragging him to the door them walked in hearing the barks of both old and young dogs.

"Oh hello" An old woman popped out of nowhere dusting off her hands. "what can I help you with?" she asked sweetly. I looked back at Oscar as I couldn't talk and he walked forward with his arms open. 

"Hello suzie, I came to see if we could take a pup off your hands?"he asked hugging her.

"Oh of course you can, Hello i'm suzie. Oscar here is such a softie, he always comes and helps out with the puppies" I waved at her and looked at Oscar at his soft side.

"Oh sorry, this is Naomi she isn't being rude she just can't talk" he explained to her at the obvious confusion at me. She was sweet and in her mind all I got was complements and secrets about Oscar. Cues evil laugh. After them having a conversation about most of the puppies being bought Oscar lead me into the back.

"So I was thinking we should have a puppy!" he grinned "And since i've always wanted one of these pups I thought why not share with you, because you live across the street and well..." he trailed off blushing because he didn't know what else to say. I was... cute. "So go one, choose one" he grinned pointing to a room with a sign saying 'BEWARE OF PUPPIES-MAY LICK TO DEATH' I laughed at the sign and ran into the room and was immediately met with the barks of tiny puppies.

"We only have 3 left, we did have 17 but thankfully they got homes" I nodded and looked around at all three of them two where beagle puppies and the other was a gorgeous blonde lab with black spot and a green and blue eyes. I picked the lab up and cuddled it as it nuzzled me back. 

"I guess your choosing the Lab, Its a he by the way and is very well behaved" He acted all business like. I passed him the puppy and took out my note pad writing 'I chose him because he seemed alone and seems like a mixture of us both' I showed him the note and he smiled then ruffled my hair.

"I'm not the softie you are!" he chuckled and lead me out holding on to the wriggling puppy. We got to the front desk and was greeted by suzie. "We are taking the lab" he struggled and the lab tried to get out of his arms. I poked him and then pointed to the puppy and me so he reluctantly handed him over. I mocked Oscar as the puppy just stayed still in my arms snuggling up to me.

"Aw, bless he seems to like you" Suzie cooed. "Oh and Oscar no need to fill out the paper work i've done it for you now go get the pups needs" she waved us off as we got in the car and drove off.

"He's had all his shots so need to worry about him getting ill. you can take him for walks straight away and of course i'll help you" I nodded as he talked on. "Oh lets go to pets corner!" he suddenly shouted. "they have everything you need for puppies lets go!" 

We pulled up into the parking lot so I signalled him to wait as I wrote down a note. 'I don't have any money!' I showed him and he frowned. 

"Who said your paying?" He picked up the pup and got out his truck. "Watch out you might see Alexis here, it does have the needs of bitches." He said so blanked faced and serious I nearly thought he was saying the truth until he said the bitch part. I cracked up and ended up wiping away a few tears.

"Come on giggle fits! Time to get our shop on!" he yelled in a over exaggerated girls voice. We walked around until we hit the puppy isle and me and the pup ran towards to cute leads and collars. I picked up a collar that had a dark blue galaxy pattern and had a bow tie in the same colour with a name tag shaped like a four spikes star, It had a matching lead so I picked up a small size for his puppy days and a large one for when he was grown up.

"Oh there cute, put them in the basket" he held up a basket he got without me noticing. I placed them in and continued to look for things for him. We got a food bowl and water bowl that was black with white mustaches on and a large fluffy dog bed that  was black and white. Oscar threw in some balls, a bone and a couple of puppy treats and had a extra large bag of walkers puppy food over his shoulders. show of. As I looked around for one last toy to get him. I turned around when I suddenly heard a small growl, I looked down and saw the the puppy had gotten hold of a stuffed toy cow with long legs. I picked the pup up and grabbed the cow then threw it in the basket as he seemed to like it.

"We can get his collars engraved now if you want?" Oscar asked and I nodded vigorously and he chuckled at my enthusiasm. "We need to think of a name though". A million thoughts rushed through my head at once then the idea struck me!. I placed the pup down and took out my pad. 

'Can we pleaseee call him Sir. Lucile ! ' I showed him my note and gave him the puppy eyes.

"Sir.Lucile it is !' He chuckled. I swooped up Lucile and carried him  to the collar engravement station thing. "I'll go pay and you sort this out I will come back in a second once I have everything in the car". I nodded then started the process of making the collar tags. In the end after the frustrating process of re-entering mine and Oscars numbers again and again I finally had two tags:

Sir.Lucile

"Well that was painstakingly funny!" Oscar laughed next to me. He came back while I was half way through the first number. "Come on Its getting late and we need to set up the things for Lu, and don't worry I asked your mum about this so she knows you have a puppy".

 ...

I lay in my bed with Lucile at my side cuddles up thinking about the day. I realized that I barley heard a thought today. That made me smile along with how cute Oscar was today. I drifted off with my last thought being ' I wonder how pebbles will react to Lu?'
