Chapter 12:

One of the worst weeks of my life. But also one of the best.

When someone loses a loved one, consolation can be near impossible. There aren't words to explain the sorrow.

However, I had empathy. I'd been in his shoes, kinda. I'd lost my brother. Not the same, but I knew how he felt, sort of. But I had my church to help me through it. I believe that I will see Connor again.

Zayn didn't understand. I told him about what I believed and why I was so happy, even though my brother died. I could tell he was comforted, and he wanted to know more. I told him he could.

The funeral was on Wednesday, and it was Monday. It was in his hometown, Bradford. Zayn was taking it hard. He took me to all of his favorite places to try to take his mind off of it, but everywhere we went he would remember a time with his uncle.

He took me to this really old cathedral. It was absolutely stunning. I looked up at the ceiling, which was beautifully painted and decorated.

"It's beautiful!" I said.

"Just like you." He replied.

"Haha, you're so cheesy."

"Kaylee I'm not joking."

He got really serious.

"Thank you so much for coming to his funeral. I don't think you know how much that means to me."

"Zayn, of course I would go. You're so important to me. If its important to you, I'm going. Always."

I kissed him softly, then we walked back to his house, and watched Teen Wolf.

"Stiles is my favorite character" I stated.

"Really? Mines the coach that gives the Independence Day speech."

I laughed into his chest.

"He's pretty entertaining" I said once I could breathe again.

"Why do you like Stiles?"

"Well, he tries to keep his grades up, and he really really cares about his dad and disappointing him, but I live that no matter what happens, he sticks with Scott. He's loyal. That's why I like him."

"And he's hot, right?"

"Yeah, but so are you."

"I'm loyal too, right?"

"Yep."

"So I'm Stiles?'

"No, because Stiles is just a made up character. Dylan O'brien probably isn't as loyal and loving and eager to please as you are. I love you."

"I love you too, Kaylee bear."
