chapter three

"I'm so sorry-"
"no really it's my fault I was day dreamin-"
"no really I'm sorry-"
"no no it was my fault I'm sorry"
regulus looked at her shaking his head as he spoke
"I was stuck in a daydream and not paying attention and for that I'm sorry"

callisto started to shake her head slightly "how about we agree that we both may have been slightly distracted?" regulus nodded "okay I can agree with that"he had an amused expression, he then held out his hand "Regulus black and you are?" callisto reached out for his hand and slightly shook it "Callisto-Brynn Potter but most people just call me callie"

when regulus went to walk away callisto could hear him say "it was a pleasure Callisto-Brynn I hope to see you again once we're at school" and with that he was down the corridor of the train and talking with the trolley lady

with a final look his way she headed back to the compartment still not in her uniform in a daze

the first thing she heard when she opened the door was sirius asking james "is she okay?" and James replying "I don't know mate but she's acting like them muggle girls we seen crowding that singer"

"I'm perfectly fine thank you very much" she told them as she sat down in the corner beside remus "are you sure love, you're still in my jumper" remus was turned in his seat with his full attention directed on her "I simply decided I didn't fancy trying to balance in the bathroom getting tights on so I'm just going to stick my robes on and pray to Merlin McGonagall doesn't notice" he just looked at her obviously not buying it "plus your jumper is really comfy and makes me feel safe-" his eyes widened slightly but he still wasn't buying it "alright fine I bumped into sirius' brother"

sirius almost jumped out of his seat "really? how is he? was he nice to you like he wasn't rude or anything right?" sirius obviously still had a lot of love for his brother "he was perfectly polite and tried to take full responsibility for us bumping into each other" that answer seemed to please sirius, knowing regulus hadn't turned cold and hadn't started to make snide remarks at everyone gave him hope that his brother might be okay

though remus didn't seem too pleased at the idea as she had came back in a world of her own, not that he knew why he felt this way towards the situation as he was sure they wouldn't bump into each other in school apart from class and even then Slytherin's and Gryffindor's sit separated in any joint classes they had, he stopped over thinking when he felt a slight pressure on his chest

he noticed the other 3 boys on the opposite seats and then realised callisto had fallen asleep like she always does, well she doesn't normally cuddle into remus' side not that he's complaining or anything, he noticed she was sleeping sat up against him With her feet on the floor, she was twisted in a weird way so he quietly said to james "James could you put her legs up on the seat I couldn't imagine this being comfortable"

james slowly done as asked sort of second guessing how his sister and one of his best friends managed to get so close without anyone else noticing, once everyone was situated and comfortable again the door slid open "Hey guys hav-" almost immediately all the guys made a 'shh' noise and that's when lily noticed callisto sleeping "I was about to ask if you'd seen callisto but no use in asking now" she let out a light laugh

"hi Evans" James was trying to be polite yet lily still looked annoyed by him "hi potter" obviously she was expecting more and by more I mean james asking her out, instead of that happening sirius happily spoke up in a hushed voice "Yeah hello, I guess you can leave now considering you know where callisto is because Merlin if she wakes up and notices we are in fact still an hour away from Hogwarts she will have someone's head" he looked at callisto and an almost sleeping remus before turning to look at lily once more "and it definitely won't be remus' that's all I'm saying"

lily looked a bit embarrassed as she stuttered out an apology and said her goodbyes before leaving, the door closed and the only thing heard was remus and Callisto's quiet snores, james turned to sirius "did you really have to be such a dick about it" sirius snorts while trying to cover his laugh

"uh guys" both james and sirius turn towards peter "look" he pointed at remus and callisto who were both sleeping except now remus was holding her tight and callie was head was positioned on his neck, remus' jumper was that big on callie that it looked like she had a small blanket covering her

sirius shook his head sighing "ah young love, not that they realise it yet, it definitely is young love though, not the puppy love kind but like 'I love you but I won't say anything because I don't want to ruin the friendship so we'll just be as close as a couple but do nothing about it' kind of love" sirius then had a goofy smile on his face at the fact remus and callie act like a couple and do everything a couple would do without the kissing part, while james looked at him his face showing a mix of horror and disgust at the idea "dude that's our sister and best friend" sirius gave him a deadpan look as if to say 'really you're really starting this?' "well jamesie it's either remus whom we trust fully and completely or some random bloke that turns out to be a dick head, completely up to you"

james now smiling realised who sirius meant by random bloke "Hey sirius you wouldn't by any chance be referring to your brother as a random bloke would you?" sirius' smile dropped "what would make you think that?" his voice was raised a few octaves

peter apparently thought now was a good time to put his book down and start talking "maybe because of your reaction when she walked back in? oh, or maybe its cause you want no ties to that family at all?" sirius just glared and turned to look out the window as if he was a toddler having a tantrum

about a half hour later remus was starting to wake up, the first person to notice was peter "thank fuck your awake I think james is close to having a mental breakdown!" this made remus look up quickly, he tried to sit up only stopping once he realised there was someone sleeping, he looked again noticing it was callisto and put his arm up covering his face as it was starting to match the colour of a certain redheads hair

all he could hear was sirius' bark of laughter and some of james' shouts of complaints , remus uncovered his face and looked at callie sleeping, all her facial muscles relaxed, her face was kind of smooshed into his chest not that he minded, she looked peaceful for once, she always had this energetic aura about her that made it seem impossible for her to sit down, but for once instead of speaking absolute gibberish from how fast she spoke, she's still, she's quiet, she's calm, she's peaceful.

he looked at her and noticed a beauty mark hidden behind her ear where no one could see it almost as if it was intentionally there for whatever reason, he noticed how when something exciting or maybe unexpected happens in her dream that her nose twitches slightly like a bunny

he was broken from his trance when james let out an over dramatic cough to get his attention, "jeez mate you'd think you're in love with her from the way you've been staring at her" this made sirius laugh because while james and remus were oblivious as ever to something like this sirius could see the love remus held for his sister by just a mere look in their direction "good luck mate you're going to need it when waking her up" with that the other three boys started up their conversation about quidditch again

with a sigh remus looked back to Callisto's sleeping figure trying to navigate the best way to wake her up from her peaceful sleep, her nose twitched again and without thinking he quickly kissed her nose, he held his breath over thinking everything he had done up until this moment having a tiny crisis as james and sirius- her brothers- were sat across from them, hoping they seen nothing when his eyes met the warm gaze of callisto potter, they just sort of stared into each others eyes for a few moments

james and sirius luckily didn't notice the nose kiss but a certain redhead did when passing, not that she'd tell james or sirius as it seemed they weren't speaking to her for whatever reason she didn't know and she didn't want to find out as long as it meant a quiet school year for her
