Chapter 7

Remus couldn't help but stare at her from across the room 

she is the most beautiful creature he has ever had the luck to lay his sights upon

the way she swayed across the room to Lily and the way she looked so effortlessly beautiful 

to the way her cheeks were slightly flushed due to the alcohol, he had never seen someone quite as gorgeous as she-

"how about we get out of here for a while"

God remus had been struggling with getting this one girl to leave him alone all night, she just wouldn't take the hint, he even tried to get her to go over to the twins with no luck

she had practically attached herself to his side, now he's not blind she's beautiful and if he was any other guy he'd be stupid to not take her up on the offer

but he wasn't any other guy, he was remus lupin and this guy was maddeningly falling for a girl with the last name potter

"listen I'm sure you're a very lovely girl but-"

the dirty blonde looked absolutely gobsmacked "you're saying no? to a chance with me? my, my, someone must have you hooked around her little pinkie" and with that she walked away

leaving a very confused lupin behind "what-" he barely muttered the word before he was being yanked over to sirius who was in a very heated debate

"moony I need you to settle something for me" all remus could think was oh god "who's better Jane Austen or Emily Brontë"

again leaving the poor lupin boy completely confused yet also in his own literary element he answered "Emily Brontë of course I mean the quote 'If he loved you with all the power of his soul for a whole lifetime, he couldn't love you as much as I do in a singl-" his answer cut short by sirius' hand over his mouth

"yeah yeah we get it moony you actually read, but you just won me a bet and-" he pointed at wyatt with whom he must've made whatever this stupid bet was about "Ha! Ha I say! I told you his favourite author out of the two was Emily Brontë but you didn't believe me"

remus kind of deflated after that

"what was it you got so excited about? I'd love to hear about it"

he quickly turned once he heard the girls voice Pandora always wanted to hear about his small interests alongside callisto obviously

"oh well-"

he immediately jumped into discussion with the girl

it had been a few days since the party 

an eventful few days at that 

there had been more attacks on the muggleborns and half-bloods within the school whoever these people, these 'death eaters' were, they were taking out entire families.

Hogwarts had gone silent. 

students turning they're backs on those who they think could be the next target in a sense of survival or in case they were the ones preying on innocent people due to the level of magic flowing through their veins.

 sirius was honest as soon as the news came to light 

about how his parents wanted him to join their ranks as soon as he was finished school, not that he wanted too in the first place but now they were killing people? his peers? he was just glad he always takes his entire closet and personally special items to school in fears of going home to all of it gone 

the plan now was for him to permanently move in with the potters, he already had his own room with S.B.P on the top of the door just like james had J.F.P and callisto had C.B.P they had added the P to the end of sirius' because him and callie found it funny how both her and him would have basically matching initials without james, which james of course spent a week pouting about.

everyone sat silently around the fire until james spoke up 

"what about regulus?"

sirius' head shot up from where he was reading peters comic 

"shit"

he stood up

"fuck, shit, fuck"

callisto stood and put her hand on his shoulder as a comforting gesture 

"sirius, i can speak with him if you'd like"

he looked at her tears brimming his eyes which were now clouded in worry 

"please"

the girl nodded her head before grabbing remus' hand and walking away dragging remus out past the portrait with her

"and where would you be taking me m'lady?"

she turned her head to look at him for a second, grinning 

"you my good sir, are going to protect me"

"and how am i going to do that?" she could hear the smile in his voice as she came to a stop dropping his hand and facing him

"by being tall..Duh!" she shrugged her shoulders at him before grabbing his hand once again and continuing on their path

he let her drag him the entire way to the top of the stairs for the dungeons, where the slytherin common rooms were located by, his smile didn't drop once.
