The Muse

More beautiful than sunrise is she,

For her hand many a suitor plea,

Searching for her desperately throughout the land,

Her sly ways attempting in vain to understand

As she cunningly eludes capture, gaining the upper hand.

The kingpin for many a person's blues

She is, the extremely elusive muse.

Whilst watching children at play in the park,

Or walking the streets after dark,

Whilst taking a refreshing shower,

Whilst absorbing the beauty of a flower,

In the midst of the rush hour,

Most random of times and places she does choose

She is, the mysterious and coveted muse.

To receive her smile, you are blessed,

To your creative endeavours it adds zest,

The brush on canvas glides with finesse,

The pen deftly conjures and express,

From the keys the notes smoothly egress;

To add beauty to the world she does choose,

She is, the amazing muse.
