One of the clocks you passed in the corridors read 24:13 hours. The ship was quiet. The corridors empty besides the few night shift workers roaming in and out of the control rooms.
The Commander's footfalls never fade from following you, always one step behind. The two stormtroopers that were outside your door are moments ahead. You allow them to guide you rather than get insight from Kylo.
They lead you to an elevator that you take to a upper floor. Exiting to another level of residence.
The troopers stand outside the door of a residence that's located at the end of its own corridor. More stormtroopers await outside, guarding and checking everyone that enters and exits.
You stride down the corridor slowly pacing your steps, allowing Kylo to overtake you and take the front. His shoulder lightly brushes yours as he passes you, memories of his hands on your skin awaken but you soon shoosh them back to sleep.
You wait patiently outside the residence door before they slide open and you follow Kylo inside.
The room is dark as any other residence on the ship. The room large and minimalistic from what you can see. Nothing looks even remotely disturbed or used. It looks like a display.
As you walk into the sitting room you notice more people standing outside another door. Similar to the layout of yours or Kylo's quarters, you guess it's the bedroom of the residence. A medical droid stands outside the door, speaking with one other person dressed in simpler clothes with a doctors emblem embroidered on the sleeve of his tunic.
Kylo strides straight past the man and the droid, no acknowledgement sent their way while they take the effort to nod their heads in his direction.
The bedroom doors slide open, and you follow Kylo inside. You slowly walk in, eyeing the sight of the room, everything still looking like a display. Who's residence is this? Your heart skips a beat when your eyes find the bed.
The grey sheets are muddled and ripped, and soaked completely in blood.
Your feet stick you to the floor. Your eyes wide as you process the sight. There's so much blood.
Kylo walks to the left of the room. You snap your eyes away from the bed and pace after him, wishing to wash the blood from your memories.
In the left of the room is a small black sofa, and who sits there is none other than General Hux.
Your brows furrow as you take in his appearance. His hair is messy and not combed back as you're used to. He wears a plain navy button up pyjama shirt, his pants the same yet the pant sleeve of his right leg is ripped open.
His right thigh bandaged, blood already evident seeping through the material. What the fuck happened?
You can't help but see the unease and shock radiating off him. He holds his hands in his lap, fingers trembling even through he tries hard to stop them.
You're the first to speak, talking a step forward to come into line tho Kylo.
"What happened?" You breathe, your own thoughts of what might have happened reeling in your head. You remember what the stormtroopers said. An assassination attempt. Your brain scans. You didn't realise the attempt was on him!
Hux's green eyes shoot to you, before turning to Kylo. "You said you knew who sent the message." He says to Kylo, ignoring your question of what happened.
Kylo gives you a quick glance before holding his hand behind his back, answering Hux's question with a simple nod.
Hux's eyes widen, shrugging to him to continue. "Well? Who was it?" He asks sternly.
