"Boxing? Are you serious?" I questioned my brother while I was in the hall, ready to begin the court session.

"Yeah!" Dean replied enthusiastically on the other end.  "Garth said he's good friends with the coach and that it would be a great way to cool off and get all of your anger and worries out.  It will also really help the coach out, it's a new business and he's been trying to get more people to join."

I tapped my foot on the marble floors nervously, biting my nails.  "I don't know, Dean..."

"Don't knock it till you try it," he replied.  "At least check it out.  You never know, it might be really fun."

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, noticing my client across the hall being escorted into the courtroom.  She looked at me with pleading eyes, and I gave her an encouraging thumbs up in return. "I'll think about it," I told Dean.  "I gotta go, talk to you soon."

"Bye, good luck," he replied.

I hung up quickly and ran into the courtroom, checking to make sure I had everything with me.  Security camera photos, copies of emails exchanged throughout the time frame between my client and the victim.  Okay...I had everything.

The officer on the case, Balthazar, looked at me menacingly, staring down my client who was nervously shaking in her seat.  I placed my hand on her knee, and I gave her a comforting smile.

"Everything's going to be alright, you hear me?" I whispered to her.

She smiled back.  "I trust you," was all she said.

A heavy wave of nervousness rushed over me when she said that.  This case really shouldn't be nerve wracking, I had all the evidence perfectly lined up.  I will win this, right? The case was the murder of my client's brother, James Carlston.  He was an accountant, killed in his own office by who I believe is the killer: Sheila Daniels.  Friend of my client Stacy Carlston and James's ex girlfriend.  My case was trying to prove she grew obsessive with winning him once he began a new relationship, and killed him out of anguish.  It was almost perfect murder...until the police apparently proved that Stacy's alibi didn't check out.  But I have more evidence than they think, and it was killing Balthazar.

Speaking of Balthazar, he continued to glare at me from across the room, speaking with Shelia Daniels and chatting up the jury.  I cleared my throat and rose from my seat, Stacy giving me a strange look.  I approached him confidently, making sure the judge was still out of the room.  I could get blamed easily for trying to talk down Balthazar's pitch and that would make my client lose almost immediately.

"What are you looking at?" Balthazar asked coldly, placing his hands on his hips as he looked up at me curiously.

I shrugged and slipped my hands in my pockets.  "I could ask you the same thing."

He stepped closer to me, getting in my face with that sly smirk of his that made my blood boil.  "You're not going to win this time, Winchester," he whispered darkly.  "I know your client did this, and I will put that murderer where she belongs.  Prison, where the public is safe from her wrongdoings."

I stepped closer this time, staring down into his soul with a smile on my face.  "You and I both know the ex girlfriend did this," I whispered back.  "You put my client in jail, and a killer still walks the streets.  Good luck having that talk with your captain."

I walked away and back to my table, greeting the judge as he walked into the room.  I winked at Balthazar and he scoffed, crossing his arms and sitting down beside his partner.   The court was about to commence...and I made sure I had everything by my side to protect my client no matter what.
