Chapter 12: Return to Form

After a very tension-filled rest of the day for Hawk, he was officially enrolled into Shade academy. He was to act as a solo team as there were no teams to put him with. He was to be monitored by Dante and Vergil to ensure he'd behave himself. But as the new day came, they were relieved to see that Hawk was more well behaved than one would expect.

Back with Team NAFP, entering the cafeteria, they are surprised to see Hawk already eating. Unsurprisingly, he had chosen to sit alone. What caught their attention the most was the tail protruding from his lower back. They could tell from the energy it emitted that it was demonic. After getting their food, they take a seat at Hawk's table, Hawk not bothering to look up from his food.

Falke: "Hey me."

Hawk: "For the love of-. Do they know?"

Nero: "Don't worry, he's told us."

Hawk: "Ah, at least that's done with."

Ace: "So what's with the tail?"

Hawk: "*sigh* Dante and Vergil insisted I come up with some kind of disguise so I can blend in as a Faunus. So I chose to manifest a tail and go as a...*sigh* a horned lizard. I feel so degraded."

Pyrrha: "Well, I like the tail. It suits you."

Nero: "Yeah, whatever. So if you are from an alternate universe, does that mean you met our counterparts?"

Hawk: "I have met your counterpart, but you two aren't that different, but you do have a better handle on your power, though. Pyrrha's counterpart had more confidence in herself, and I never met your counterpart, Ace."

Ace: "Meh. I'll take your word that he's probably just like me."

As they continue to eat their breakfast, Team RWBY makes their way over with their food.

Ruby: "Morning, Falke." Taking a seat next to Falke.

Falke: "Morning y'all." Weiss takes a seat next to Ace while Blake sits next to Nero.

Yang: "Who's the new guy?"

Hawk: "Hawk. A pleasure to meet you."

Yang: "Nice to meet you, Hawk. Name's Yang, that's Ruby, my little sister. Over there is Weiss and Blake."

Blake: "A pleasure. You just enroll?" As they continue to talk, Ruby scooches closer to Falke.

Ruby: "*Whispering* Hey Falke, I think we may have found your doppelganger."

Falke: "*Whispering* You think?"

Hawk: "Did you two forget that Faunus have excellent hearing? Anyway, I think that is enough breakfast for me. I'll see you all in class; again, it was a pleasure to meet you all." Hawk threw away his tray and left.

Weiss: "He's a very...strange individual."

Blake: "It's almost like he was ripped straight from one of my mystery novels."

Ruby: "He's very well mannered for someone in Vacuo."

Nero: "What's that supposed to mean?"

Blake: "Nero, I don't think I've ever heard you say "pleasure" before."

Ace: "She's got you there."

Weiss: "To switch the subject. Falke, mother told me she would be stopping by today to see our combat training class."

Falke: "Really? That's awesome."
