As the morning sun peaks over the trees overlooking a large field, two armies stand at each end. On one end, the remnants of the Atlas military stand ready to fight, mainly consisting of soldiers indoctrinated into Angelo's brutal ranks. They wear onyx black uniforms with white accents, each wearing a mask similar to their merciless commander. On the other side of the clearing, the combination of The Spider's forces and the Branwen Clan forces stand ready. At the front stand Falke, Raven, Dante, and Vergil. Each prepared for combat.
Dante: "You sure you're up for this, Falke?"
Falke: "It doesn't matter if I'm ready or not. This has been a long time coming. It's about time I slay my demons. Metaphorically speaking."
Out from the Atlas forces walks out, Ironwood flanked by Angelo, who towers over the former.
Ironwood: "Raven Branwen!! Too long you have ruled over Mistral through fear and terror! Today that ends! Today Atlas reasserts its dominance as the strongest military on Remnant! This is your only chance to surrender; either lay down your arms, or we won't be taking prisoners!"
Vergil: "Blustering from an already defeated fool."
Dante: "Well, at least he thinks he sounds cool. A, for effort."
Raven: "How the mighty James Ironwood has fallen! You failed in protecting your kingdom; what hope will you have here?! The only thing you shall have in MY kingdom is a shallow grave!"
Angelo: "General, let's just kill them all already. I tire of this back and forth shit."
Ironwood: "No. If there's even a remote chance of peace, then I'll take it."
Angelo, angered by Ironwood's lack of killer instinct, disregards the general's words. Pulling his greatsword from the ground, he drives it into Ironwood's back. Lifting him off the ground with the blade impaling Ironwood.
Angelo: "I liked you better when you were willing to drop a city to prove a point. ATTACK!!"
Without hesitation, the Atlas forces commanded by Angelo charged towards Falke and the others. All the while, Angelo laughed maniacally while Ironwood hung from his blade.
Falke: "Looks like we're doing this." Drawing Yamato from the sheath. Feeling a surge of power as if the blade was excited to kill.
Dante: "Whoo! Let's go! This party's about to get even crazier!" Pulling Ebony and Ivory from their holsters.
Vergil: "Indeed." Summoning his blade.
Raven: "Charge!!" Both clan Branwen forces and The Spider's forces charge to meet Angelo's force.
As both sides clashed, chaos ensued. Both sides fought with brutality only those who have thrown away their morals would. Falke fought with a newfound fury as he seamlessly slashed at each opponent, but he could feel the Yamato weakening. It was as if it knew he was holding back, not going for killing blows, still holding on to his code of no killing. Falke knew he had to find Angelo so he could end this before he wouldn't have the strength to fight. Just then, he was knocked to his back as he was hit by the thrown corpse of Ironwood, Angelo quickly approaching.
Falke: "Really, Jaune, that's just fucking disgusting."
Angelo: "Really. If you thought that was disgusting, your gonna love what I'm gonna do with your so-called "family". Hehe."
Raising his sword to strike down, Falke side rolls and counters with a slash to the chest. Falke can't pull his strikes. He had to kill Angelo. It was the only way to win this battle.
As the battle raged on, far away on a hill overlooking the battle and the camp. Sam and Neo approached a tree resting at the top of it. Sam could tell from the field that this hill...this tree was the one from his vision. He couldn't care less which side won. All he cared for was finding out who he was. Besides, if Raven won, then he'd be in the clear, and if she lost, then Angelo would lead his army to destroy the Spiders empire, win-win.
Neo(typing): "Are you sure this is the right move?"
Sam: "Neo, I gave you a choice to stay. You wouldn't have followed me if you didn't trust me. So do you trust me?" Neo takes a second to think and answers by placing a kiss on Sam's cheek. "I'll take that as a yes." Both continue up to the tree.
Reaching the top and to the tree, he begins to look around for any symbol or marking that could trigger his memories. But he found nothing, no marks, no signs, the tree was untouched. As he collapsed against the tree from anger and sorrow, he cried. Was he destined never to know who he was? But as Neo comforted him, he heard a faint noise coming from the tree...a heartbeat.
Back at the battle, Falke continued to dodge attacks from Angelo, but his attacks failed to deal any real damage. As he dodged another attack and was going for a slash, the Yamato yanked him a few inches away, almost knocking him over.
Falke: "What the hell?!"
Angelo: "Did your sword just pull you? Hah! Even your sword knows fighting me is a lost cause. Don't worry, little blade. Once I kill your master, I'll give you a newer, nicer home."
Angelo went for an overhead strike, and Falke moved to deflect, but the Yamato refused to budge as it took Falke everything he had to stop it from pulling him away. But he had no strength to move the blade. So he let go as he rolled out of the way of Angelo's attack, watching as the Yamato flew away towards a small hill overlooking the battle.
Angelo: "Huh...meh, I liked my sword better anyway."
As the blade flew past both Dante and Vergil, they turned in confusion.
Dante: "I didn't know it could do that. It can do that, right?"
Vergil: "No, it cannot." Turning to see Falke was defenseless. "Dante! With me!" They both rushed to aid Falke.
Back at the tree, Sam could now feel the heartbeat coming from the tree. He then felt a sharp pain in his chest. Looking down to see a katana with black cracks sticking out from his and had stuck itself into the tree. But it didn't hurt. All he felt was the heartbeat of the tree quicken. The tree and the cracks along the blade began to glow a dark red. At that moment, Sam finally knew who he was or, more specifically, WHAT he was.
Sam: With a slight smile on his face. "Huh. Well, I'll be damned."
With that being said, the tree and the Yamato exploded in a brilliant explosion of red energy.
Across the world, in the Shade Academy library, Pyrrha, Nero, and Ace, we're doing some homework they had been assigned. But Nero and Pyrrha suddenly stopped and shot up from their seats, instantly transforming into their Devil Triggers. Both took battle stances as they looked out a window to see a giant pillar of red light.
Back in Mistral, everyone in the battle could barely stand as the force from the pillar and explosion knocked them to their knees. Only Dante, Vergil, and Falke could stand. Each transformed into their Devil Triggers involuntarily. They all began to hear a voice. Its voice was filled with malice and disdain.
???: "And a roof, vast petrific around,
On all sides He fram'd: like a womb;
Where thousands of rivers in veins
Of blood pour down the mountains to cool
The eternal fires beating without
From Eternals; & like a black globe
View'd by sons of Eternity, standing
On the shore of the infinite ocean
Like a human heart strugling & beating
The vast world of Urizen appear'd"Neo, who was knocked down from the explosion, looked up in shock and confusion. As before stood a young man with a dark black and red coat, in his hand a katana sheathed in dark metal. Horns protruded from his head, and fire seemed to emanate from them. But what shocked her the most was that whoever this was looked precisely like Falke.
