Lexa's POVYou know it's funny, my life was perfect before the world went to shit. I had it all. I was head cheerleader, perfect grades, amazing family. But I always wanted more. I wanted to feel more, wanted to be more. Then I really lost everything. I lost my dad. and I loved him unconditionally with every fibre of my being. He was my rock, He kept me sane. That's when the darkness grew erratically when the comfortability that lived with in my life started to tip, when the addict within me got louder, wailing in the darkness corners of my mind. banging on the walls of my skull begging to be released from the jail cell of my own. OH and you know when I found out my father had died. At the start of an apocalypse yep a fucking apocalypse.
I'm pulled out of my thoughts when the a scratchy voice pulls through the radio. "Hello? Hello? Can anybody hear my voice?"
Carl and I along with our mother and any other survivors sitting around fly out of our seats with anticipation of who is one the other side while Amy drops the pile of logs she was holding to run up to the radio and fly to her knees before answering the unknown man
"Hey? hello?!" She calls to him voice laced with the hope of another survivor
The mans voice rings through again "can you hear my voice?" I put my hand on Carl's shoulder as he looks up at me for a split second with a slightly confused face before looking back towards Amy and the radio.
Amy tried to inform him as to our whereabouts as he admits to the radio he will be approaching Atlanta, (which is basically a death trap considering it's completely overrun by geeks, dumbass) but it seems as if he can't hear her she starts getting frustrated looking up and dale and saying "Damit. He couldn't hear me. I couldn't warm him"
Dale, the voice of reason kinda yoda vibes of the group if u ask me turns to my godfather shane "come on, son. You know best how to work this thing"
Shane comes over and tries to work the radio "Hello, hello, is the person who still called on the air? This is officer shane Walsh, broadcasting to person unknown please respond"
"He's gone" Shane's sighs talking to no one in particular. My shoulder slouch as I sigh lightly through my nose knowing he'll be dead the second he enters the city. My mother on the other hand decides to look on the bright side "there are others, it's not just us" Shane looks as mum before sanding back up "we knew there would be right? That's why we left the CB on"
I slightly tune out of the conversation while they talk about putting signs up on the road outside the city to warn people away. I think it's a great idea but knowing Shane he will never let us go he's sort of become our somewhat leader since we got to camp so I just decide to stay quiet until I hear Mum mumble an annoyed "yes sir" to Shane before marching away back to our shared tent.
Carl goes to follow her and I go to follow him but before either of us get the chance to walk far Shane stops Carl "hey, come one, stay with Lexa bud, you're alright, go on" Carl hesitantly walked back over to me and we both take a seat on a log
Carls looks over to me with lesser bright eyes than before "Do you think mums ok?" He asks me I look over to him with with loving eyes . But when mum and dad starting fighting before dads death when he got upset and I'd try to cheer him up but the sad look he'd get always hit a soft spot in my heart. The same look he's got now. "I'm sure she's fine"
I've never been the best with Comfort and I could see my words didn't make him feel much better so I spoke again "you know why don't we go check on her?" Carl's features lift slightly before falling a bit "but Shane said-" "Shane said to stay with me not that we couldn't go after Mum" I cut him off with a cheeky grin. He nods and we both make our way to the tent
"Mum!" Carl calls out as I see mum and Shane jump from the sudden noise Shane comes out quickly "what's up bud? She's in there, go on." I smile slightly before carl and I walk up to Mum
She leans down in front of Carl "hey. I don't want either of you to worry your mums not going anywhere ok?" Carl slightly nods before Mum repeats "yeah?" Causing carl to nod frantically and me to nod calmly "go finish your chores" Mum instructs carl and he runs off before muttering a quick "ok"
Mum turns to me and says "come here baby" me giggling as she pulls my into a tight mum hug knowing how hard I've been trying to hold it together for Carl after everything.
HI
thanks for reading Ik this chapter was boring and so will the first few as I tried to make lexa's character realistic and Im not trying to make Lexa some already crazy character but don't worry! It gets better and Lexa becomes more and more brave and badass and as for Tommy well he was always a badass but he does learn to love. Also something worth mentioning is the darkness I've talked a lot about I'm the book. Lexa actually shares with Rick which is what makes them so close like in season 4 when Rick kills the claimers (as he should) he talks to Daryl about how he did what he did for him family and how it's "always been there" the same with Lexa, I wanted to mention this so you don't think Lexa is absolutely insane when she talks about her inner darkness lol she's actually just a badass warrior willing to do anything to save those she loves just like Rick, but since her life before the walkers was so "normal" she never got to live up to what she was meant to be which she learns more about herself during the apocalypse
Also Tommy's signature weapon is a sniper
And lexa's doesn't have one until the beginning of season 3 where she picks up a sword during the time jump,
