Dawnheart felt her blood running through her veins with every pump of her rapidly beating heart. Her green eyes darted in every direction as she paced back and forth before weakly collapsing onto the soft-bolder.
She took in a deep breath to calm her ever-running mind, it was time for her kits to be born. She would finally be a queen, her once kit dream now a fearful reality. However, the dream folded into a nightmare as she once again realized where she was.
I'm no queen she thought to herself, her claws sinking into the earth below her. I'm a kittypet. A weak, pampered, kittypet. Oh what would Ashwing think?
She buried her head into her tender belly for the only comfort she could get. Of course she was no queen, she was alone under a twolegs den- somewhere she had tried to escape multiple times. A place she had almost escaped by running through the brambles and fallen thick branches, leaping over twolegs rubbish and outsmarting dogs. Oh how much she enjoyed running. This was, of course, before she was caught off guard by robust black tom.
"Why are you lurking around my yard?" He confronted as he jumped in front of the now startled she-cat. "Are you searching for my scraps of food, thin one?"
Dawnheart shook herself from her trance before inching closer to the woods behind her.
"I don't need your dry pellets and soft slop!" she spat, squinting her eyes in offense. "I am simply passing by, trying to leave this twolegplace."
The tom let out a mrrow of entrancement as he sat his haunches down, letting his tail flick about.
"Why leave a place like this? Its safe and quiet. A perfect place for a delicate kitten like you." He teased.
Dawnheart unsheathed her claws and let out a low growl. "I am no kitten. I am Dawnheart of WindClan, and if StarClan allowed, I would easily end your measly kittypet life right where you sit!"
She desired to claw this mouse-brained ball of fur into shreds, just to prove she was no delicate kitten. However, she found herself unable to pick up her paws, but to instead fix her eyes upon his. Her eyes softened as she thoroughly examined the kittypet who sat just a tail length away. The sun seemed to reflect off of his shining coat, his ears stood tall and proud, and his freshly groomed tail swayed gently back and forth. He opened his jaws to speak, but was cut off by the faint calling of a twolegs beckoning him.
He stood up and began to turn before pausing.
"You're a very fascinating cat, Dawnheart. I'm Leo, and I hope to see you again, maybe we can have a proper introduction next time." He nuzzled Dawnheart's neck before vanishing into the twolegs den.
Dawnheart sat there for a moment, unable to shake the handsome tom's image from her mind. She gazed towards the woods, and then back towards the twolegsplace. Taking a reluctant sigh, she trudged back to her own twolegs den, letting a soft purr escape her throat as she once again thought of the mysterious cat who had just ruined her plans.
These sweet memories sent a tingle through her fur as her own twolegs began to approach her. She lowered her ears as the female twolegs who called her "Livi" crept towards her with a bowl of repulsive kittypet water and a warm blanket. Dawnheart knew the name "Livi" didn't suit her, and glared the other way when they began to call her by it. She looked up however, when the shadow of a large hand reach down towards her. She let out an angry hiss, her disdainful eyes piercing as she winced in pain. Reluctant as she was, Dawnheart let the twolegs groom her, soothing her already tender stomach. Both she and the twolegs knew that it was just about time.
Just as before, Dawnheart was again alone. But the pain in her heart was replaced by a much worse pain in her stomach, she latched onto the twolegs rubbish and raised her head.
