This has gone on for far too long,
Regulus knew he needed to say something to her,
Why was she ignoring him?
He wanted to confront her
Ask her what her problem is with him,
What he did to make her hate him so suddenly.
But every time he wanted to,
He couldn't.
The words never came out, stuck, deep down in his throat, dying to come out, but never able to.
He started to convince himself that maybe this is for the best.
She deserves better.
She deserves someone better.
Regulus regretted letting her in.
He regretted opening up to her and letting her break down his walls.
He will make sure to build them up stronger this time.
He wished that things were different.
He wished that his brother didn't hate him,
He wished a lot of things.
But alas, these things would never change.———
Cassidy wasn't any better.
She was starting to regret what she's doing.
She knew that if she didn't fix it soon,
She would lose regulus forever,
And he would hate her.
She couldn't handle that.
So she decided to fix things,
After her last class of the day she went to search for him. She found him sitting by the lake reading,
She approached him slowly.
"Hey, can we talk?" She said quietly, hoping he heard her.
He did, he turned around to look at her,
This is it, he thought to himself
He didn't want to bear hearing how much she hated him.
"You don't have to say it Cassidy, I already know that you want nothing to do with me anymore, it's fine, just please stay the hell away from me from now on, I can't believe I let you in and I trusted you, I should of known to never trust someone like you" he said the last part bitterly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked shakily.
"I should have never given a mudblood like you the time of day Cassidy" regulus said while walking away, already mad at himself for saying those things,
He couldn't even look at her face, afraid of what he might see.
"Regulus I-" but she wasn't able to finish her sentence, sobs overtaking.
Regulus left her by the lake regretting everything.
She regretted pushing him away,
She regretted listen to Sirius and his harsh words.
But most of all she regretted how she made regulus feel.
How was she going to fix this?
