                                   ~>Deathbringer<~

I can't believe it. Our eggs, mine & Glory's, are going to hatch any minute now.

Two beautiful eggs, one purple with golden flecks like fireflies. The other is forest green, the color of the leaves above my head.

I'm currently getting food for Glory. She hasn't left their side in days waiting for them to hatch.

I jump into a defensive position when I hear crashing coming from the direction of the new prison.

A large NightWing comes barreling out of the brush. Wait... isn't he supposed to be guarding Fierceteeth & Strongwings!?

"K-king Deathbringer," the guard speaks with panic lacing his voice.

"Clawbreaker," I nod giving him permission to speak.

"I-I ... uh..."

"Well? spit it out!"

"Fierceteeth & Strongwings are gone!"

"What!?" Glory. The eggs!

"Th- I don't know how they got out! Someone had their eyes on the cell the entire day!"

"We'll worry about that later! We need to check on Glory & the eggs!"

I dart into the trees & crash into the RainWing village. I hear a scream as I jump into the air. It's coming from the royal pavilion! "Glory! I'm coming!" I scream as I make my way towards my mate.

I arrive at the royal pavilion to see Fierceteeth grappling with Glory over the nest. I run to my queen's side, fending off the attacker.

I pull a disk from my pouch & use it to slit the NightWing's throat. I turn to the nest to see Strongwings standing over it, the forest green egg gripped tightly in his large talon.

"No!" Glory shrieks, her scales are a mix of different shades greens, blacks, & grey-blues.

The world seems to go in slow motion as Glory & I take aim for his eyes & throat, I with my disc, & Glory  with her venom. We attack as a large, black talon crushes the green egg to pieces, revealing the mangled form of a small, green dragonet, his neck twisted in a gruesome position, dead.

The venom & disc tit their targets directly, killing the large NightWing instantly.

Glory runs to the nest & grabs the remaining egg, soaked in the blood of it's brother's murderer. My mate wraps her slender body around the tiny, purple shell. Sobs shake her body violently.

I run to her, wrapping my wings around her & our unhatched dragonet protectively.

She gasps & I look to see the egg give a lurch. A small crack forms as our dragonet emerges from her protection.

I'd say I got this off to a good start. Such a happy chapter. Wouldn't ya say?

Bye until I write again my kitties!
