Queen Thorn's palace is huge.
I sit on top of Auntie Rattie's head as she walks through the gates with my cousins on each of her shoulders.
"Woah!" My cousins & I exclaim in awe.
We are escorted to our rooms, Auntie Rattie, Uncle Jambu, Anaconda, & Python share a room & Mommy, Daddy, & I share another.
I run out of our room to go play in the courtyard, but am stopped by my father's large talon grabbing my tail gently.
"Oh no you don't."
"Why not?" I complain.
"Because you don't know your way around yet."
"Then have someone show me around," just then, a SandWing, about 4 years older than me, rounds the corner.
"You," Daddy points at the unsuspecting dragoness, "you are to show my daughter around the palace & to escort her to play in the courtyard."
"Sure," the dragoness responds, "anything to get away from my dad."
I run over to her & scramble onto her back, exited to go play.
We reach the courtyard just in time to see Moonwatcher & Qibli walk through the gates with Sandstorm.
"Sandstorm!" I shriek & leap off of my babysitter's back.
"Firefly!" He runs over & tackles me in a bear hug.
"Ostrich!" We turn to see Qibli hug my babysitter, who is apparently named Ostrich.
"Hey, Qibli!" She responds.
"How's Six-claws?"
"Dad's as feisty as ever."
"So what're you doing with the RainWing-NightWing princess?"
"Deathbringer stuck me on babysitting duty."
"Le's go play!" I grab Ostrich's talon & drag her away to a playground that I had spotted.
"Okay!" She responds.
We get to play until sunset, before mine & Sandstorm's parents come to take me back to my room & Sandstorm back to his hut.
"Bye, Firefly!" Sandstorm calls from his dad's shoulder.
"Bye, Sandstorm!" I respond.
"See ya, Fly!" Ostrich yells over her shoulder as she walks towards the barracks.
"Bye!"
Daddy lays me down on a pile of blankets & pillows & he & Mommy curl around me protectively.
"So what did my little princess do today?" Mommy asks.
"I met some new friends!" I exclaim, "We're gonna be friends for life!"
