Hope lightly knocks twice on the door before entering the room.
"It's about damn time," Maya taps the spot next to her on the bed.
"Sorry, the gym took longer than I expected."
"Was it the gym workout? Or the one before it?" Landon asks smugly.
Instead of answering, Hope took the bourbon that was sitting on the bed and poured herself a shot before effortlessly downing it.
"At least she's getting some, I can't remember the last time I kissed a girl," Raf explains. I hit Maya's thigh when she snorts.
"Yeah-yeah, whatever. I'd rather take the time to learn something about a girl before making out," Raf points out.
"And that's why you never get laid," I slip in.
"Every girl I meet only likes me for my muscles, like what happened to liking a person for their personality?"
"In high school, that kinda thing doesn't exist. It's almost always about sex," Maya pours her and I another shot.
"Typically, I would never point out that Maya is right... but she is right. High school relationships don't really last, it's a waste of time," I add before taking the shot with Maya.
"Maybe it's time to stop worrying about finding a perfect match and just enjoy yourself," Landon says before taking a shot of his own.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I should just stop stressing about finding a relationship and just go with the flow," Raf realizes. Maya sarcastically gasps and responds.
"And it's almost like we're going to a party with alcohol and girls, a perfect match," she smirks.
"Speaking of, we're late. Let's head out, Jed said he'll meet us there."
We all take a final group shot and start making our way to the Old Mill.
The party was in full blast when we arrived. Witches practicing cool magic tricks, vampires chugging cup after cup of straight vodka, and wolves racing to see who the fastest is. There was one main fire in the middle of everybody with tiny fires all around it, all with a protective barrier of course.
And just as Hope expected, all the attention turned to the group's arrival as they made their way to the alcohol. Without even realizing, Hope begins searching for Josie.
However, anger forms as she finds the new girl trying to make a move on Josie. She has a hand on Josie's waist while the other brushes her cheek, and Josie just sits there and smiles. As far as Hope could tell, the jackass seemed to be leaning in, and in the moment, all Hope could do was watch what would happen next. She feels rage burning through her, yet she stands there frozen at the interaction.
"Hope!" She turns to see Jed.
"Hey, sorry. You weren't answering and Maya wants to know what you want to drink."
Hope's wolf helps her have a slightly stronger tolerance to alcohol, although not as strong as vampires. Nonetheless, she's seven drinks and three more shots in and she's feeling good. Dancing and laughing with her friends made her forget all about the situation with Josie and the new girl. That was until she glanced over and saw the two sitting oddly close together, alone, at a fire. The new girl had her arm around Josie and was whispering something in Josie's ear. The worst part being that Josie couldn't seem to stop herself from laughing. She noticed that Josie stopped dancing with her and turned to see Raf talking.
"Hey, so I've been hanging with Lizzie for a bit-" everyone groans. We know where this is going.
"I know-I know. But she's actually kinda sweet and I think I might like her and it's only one game of never have I ever. Pleeasseee," Raf rants.
Everyone reluctantly makes their way over to a small fire that Lizzie gathered her friends at.
"Please play nice," Raf whispers to Hope quickly, she just rolls her eyes.
Hope made it a point to sit as far as she could from Josie, as well as ignore the girl's pleading eyes. She simply put on her bitch face and drowned herself in her drink.
"Y'all ready to play? Do we know the rules?" MG asks excitedly. Nods are the only answer he gets as neither group is comfortable with the other yet.
"Okayyy, I'll start. Never have I ever backed away from a dare," a few people drink. Maya and I look at each other, thinking about the random shit we did just to say we haven't either.
"Never have I ever blacked out from being so drunk," everyone drinks except Josie and Raf.
The game goes on for a bit with dumb questions before Landon's turn.
"Never have I ever slept with a guy," he smirks at all the girls- who just roll their eyes at him. Josie and Hope are the only girls that don't take a sip, and Hope almost slips a smile thinking about something that happened 4 months ago. The very first time that Hope and Josie slept together, she learned after that Josie was actually a virgin. To be fair, Hope always had a soft spot for the brunette and made sure to be extra gentle. She was surprised and immediately felt guilty that Josie didn't save it, but the brunette assured the redhead that she understood what she wanted. She wanted it to be someone who would take it slow with her. "I've known you all my life Hope, I knew you would take care of me."
"Never have I ever smoked week," Maya, Jed, and Hope are the only ones who took a sip. Hope watched Josie look down at her drink but didn't dare move it to her lips. Liar. The two made eye contact as Josie swallowed roughly before turning away. She remembers everything about that night too, sex with Josie is amazing on it's own. Being high and having sex, especially with Josie, ten times better.
"Never have I ever had a crush on Josie," Lizzie gave everyone her intimidating eyes.
The new girl, of course, took a sip while keeping eye contact with Josie. Hope stared at the fire trying to control her anger as she took a very long sip. She finds herself receiving odd looks from everyone around her and notices Josie blushing.
"Anything to tell us Hope?" Landon jokes.
"It's nothing really, I had a crush on Josie for like a week when we were 14," she looks down to see her drink is empty.
"Okay, I'm done. My drink is empty and I'm tired," Hope is the first to stumble to her feet.
The rest begin to realize that a lot of people have already left the party. Just as the five were about to go, Hope decides to take one last glance at Josie tonight. She wishes she hadn't.
They were kissing.
Josie and the new girl were kissing.
Josie somehow ended up wearing her jacket and the new girl had a firm grip on her waist. The brunette even had her hands on her neck to pull her in more. Hope thought back to earlier that day when Josie did the same to her, begging her for a kiss and dragging her back down to meet in the middle.
Hope felt her chest burn, something that rarely happens with someone who isn't her family. Every other part of her body felt completely numb, she thanked the alcohol.
"I'm gonna head to my partner's room- to work on a project." Hope leaves without waiting for an answer from her friends. They all just smirk at each other, thinking that Hope is going to get laid for a second time that day.
Little did they know that Hope was heading farther into the woods to wolf-out. She was unhappy that she had to perform a spell to sober her up, but there were still drunk teens in the woods so she couldn't afford running around without a clear head.
She didn't show up to classes the next day.
