They say it's possible to smell things in your dream, research have suggested that people with strong sense of smell do smell things in their dream, though that rarely ever occurs. In your case, it's not that you have a strong sense of smell, but for some reason you can smell the cigarette in your dream.

You always told your brother to quit smoking, he would for a week or two, then you'd find him smoking again. Though every time you caught him smoking, he would always apologize to you and would treat you with your favourite ramen and you'd forgive him right away.

The last time you smelled cigarette on him, it was also the last time you ever saw him.

You woke up with a start, your heartbeat rigid and you can feel the sweat covering your neck and forehead. You inhaled through your nose then exhaled through your mouth, doing that for a few times until your heartbeat started to calm its rigid beating.

You sat up on the bed, looking briefly to the digital clock on the nightstand, the only source of light in the dimly lit room. You realized it's almost six in the morning, usually on a Friday morning like this, you'd be getting ready for work, but now you're getting ready to go to the clinic to clean out the remaining things left in there.
