~~~~~ 3rd Person POV ~~~~~
The sun's light started covering the land, causing flowers to bloom as water flowed in the background. Kala woke up in her nest and started patting around. When she couldn't find what she was looking for, she frantically lifted her arms up and got up. She grabbed leaves and vines from the nest as she worriedly called, "Tarzan?"
Tarzan, older now, hung from a vine behind her and waited for the right moment. Suddenly, he made a loud trumpet sound, which caused Kala to gasp. She turned, only met with Tarzan proudly hanging upside down from a vine.
"I sure scared you, Mom," Tarzan laughed.
"Oh, you sure did," Kala agreed.
Tarzan swung from the vine he was onto another one, before landing onto Kala's arm.
"Can't you imitate any quieter animal?" Kala asked.
"Oh, Mom, they're no fun," Tarzan responded, crawling up to the top of Kala's head. "Wanna see me be a leopard?" he growled as Kala laughed at him.
"Why don't you just come up with your own sound?" Kala suggested as she put him on the ground.
He screeched like a monkey before running off to play, making Kala lovingly shake her head at him.
He continued making weird sounds as he went by a couple mother gorillas cleaning their young. He spun in circles as he passed, making the baby gorillas spin as well. Annoyed, they simultaneously yelled, "Kala."
Tarzan continued to yell and run until he literally ran into Kerchak.
"Oops," Tarzan said. Kerchak just softly growled at him until Tarzan started laughing nervously and backing away.
Suddenly, Terk ran up to Tarzan, worriedly saying, "Tarzan! Thank goodness you're all right! Kala and I have been so worried." Terk fake-cried into Tarzan's shoulder, forcing Tarzan into a hug. "Thank you. Thank you so much for finding him, Kerchak. You are such a wise and caring leader."
Kerchak groaned and shook his head, tired of Terk's theatrics.
"Run," Terk whispered to Tarzan, before dashing off himself. Tarzan fell and stumbled for a moment before running off as well.
Terk had hid behind a tree to wait for Tarzan. As Tarzan got close and was about to pass him, Terk yelled, "Hello!" and pulled Tarzan behind the tree with him. Terk pushed Tarzan against the tree and asked, "Are you thick in the head?" as he shook Tarzan's shoulders.
"What?" Tarzan responded.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" Terk questioned as he let Tarzan go. "If you want Kerchak to like you, stay away from him.
Behind them, two other gorillas were running. The first shouted while laughing to Terk, "Come on, step on it!"
The second one followed that with, "Last one there is a dung beetle!"
"Yeah, the first one's gotta eat it," Terk responded, laughing to himself.
"Terk, can I come?" Tarzan excitedly asked.
"Well yeah, you could if you could keep up, but, you know, you can't really keep up." Terk replied before turning around and shouting, "Wait up, guys! Wait up! Right behind ya!"
Tarzan looked down sadly for a moment. When he looked back up at where Terk was, his eyebrows scrunched up in determination.
AN: I'm so sorry about my sudden disappearance. Between school, drama club, and work, I was too stressed to write and couldn't find the best time or the motivation to come back and write. As the school year comes to an end though, I am finally coming back. Sadly, this story will probably only be updated once or twice a month while my Emperor's New Emperor story will updated every week because all the chapters are finished. If you have any questions about anything, don't be afraid to ask! :)
