Northcreed is a very dangerous city, but for someone like Hyunjin who's incapable of feeling fear, it's not that big of a deal. Still, living without a basic survival instinct can get you into some trouble, and in a town full of gang activity? Well...
Past: Was orphaned along with his sister at the age of 12. Sister raised him on her own since she was 19 at the time, and was put as his legal guardian in the case of their parent's death. Was bullied at school for being gay because they lived in a rather traditional town, so they moved to a city that was more open minded when Kayla found out. Was interested in the arts from a young age, and often sang at recitals, took dance classes nearly everyday, and joined drama in high school where he showed a lot of talent. Began working at the club with a friend of his when he graduated high school, and has yet to find something he wants to do with his life. Throws darts and knives as a hobby, as he also has a friend in the circus who got him into it.
Personality: When he was three, he had surgery to remove a brain tumor. However, something went wrong and the amygdala (part of the brain responsible for fear) was damaged and left dysfunctional. Because of this, he's no longer able to process fear. Because he's incapable of feeling fear, he relies on his perceptiveness and intelligence to keep him safe. He still has a desire to survive, even though he's incapable of fearing for his life. His lack of fear allows him to remain calm and collected in stressful situations, and think logically about how to get out of said situations. Sometimes his lack of fear can lead him to be careless, and he often messes with possible threats if lives aren't in immediate danger. Without the use of his amygdala, he doesn't flinch, doesn't get intimidated, and doesn't experience anxiety and embarrassment the same way others would. He doesn't have a sixth sense, and his survival instincts are incredibly weak. He doesn't experience things like a "gut feeling", thus he relies on his ability to notice details to tell whether or not a person, place, or situation is dangerous. This is a skill he's learn from years of mishaps, so he has a couple of scars from his past. Doesn't experience trauma, but can feel certain types of dread, like if someone he cared about was in danger. Just because he doesn't get scared doesn't mean he doesn't feel emotions. He gets sad, depressed, worried, and flustered just like everyone else. He's been called insane and inhuman because of his responses to typically "scary" situations, so those words are triggers to him, and he often gets mad or depressed when called one.
