Chapter 35.

Lacey's Pov.

Dylan, the baby, and I walked home from the beach and we're currently at my house along with my Nick, Mali, and my friends. My mom and dad had a work shift, leaving Nick, Mali, and I the house to our selfs.

"Oh my goodness the baby is so cute!" Sophie squealed and I heard Mali make fake gagging noises.

The baby stared up at the unfamiliar faces with wide innocent eyes. I rocked the baby slightly in my arms making her giggle.

Dylan had an arm wrapped around me while he stroked the baby's soft hair.

"So when are you guys getting married?" Meg joked with a smirk. Meg and Soph started in fits of laughter while I shake my head at their ridiculousness.

"Not soon that's for sure." I answered back. I notice how Dylan didn't react to their joking as much as I did.

"Well, when you guys do decide to get married, Soph and I are going to be the maids of honour." I agree with her in my mind. They had stuck with me through thick and thin. Of course they would be apart of my wedding.

Mali was another story.

A knock erupts from the door. I raise a confused eyebrow. Nick shrugs before getting up to answer it.

When he opens the door a heart broken Cole stumbles into the house. I stare at him in shock.

What was he doing here?

"Can I please speak to Lacey?" He tries to looked composed, but by the way his voice trembled at the end, he wasn't fooling anyone.

Dylan tightens his hold on me while shooting a death glare at Cole.

"Please." Cole says again.

I could feel everyone's eyes one me waiting for my reaction. I look around the room and then down at my precious baby in my arms before looking back up at Cole.

"Sure." I mutter and I instantly hear protests from Dylan and my friends.

"Guys if he wants to talk then let's just get this over with." I hand the baby over to Dylan while Leaning over further to give Dylan a peck on the lips.

I stand up and walk over to Cole, leading him into the kitchen.

"Talk." I say curtly. Cole's eyes held so much pain in them, but honestly I didn't feel as guilty as I should have been.

"I know you don't love me anymore, but I really thought that we could continue on with caring for that child. I still love you and I don't know if I ever will stop. So I came here to tell you that you don't have to worry about seeing me again because I'm going to New York with my mom to continue my senior year there." My heart stops when he says those last words.

"You're leaving?" My eyes start to water slightly. Even though I didn't feel any romantic feelings towards him, I still cared for him and by him moving, it caused me terrible pain.

"I'm going to miss you." I say sincerely. He starts to shake his head as if that was a lie.

"No you won't." He says it so lightly that I get the feeling that he's heard lies so many times. I wrap my arms around him in a light hug.

"Of course I will." I pull away from the hug and gave him a pathetic excuse for a smile.

"I want you to know before you go that I don't hate you. You might have hurt me, but so has Dylan. I want you to know that I forgive you." and I truly meant those words.
