Trinity is a bird who fell from her mothers nest some time ago. She's, unfortunately, lost track of how long ago that was. She has gone through many seasons, so she knows quite some time has passed. Summer is just now passing it's final stages, and as it gets colder, it's time to move south.
As she begins her travel, she's soaring in the sky, relaxed and ready to feel the warm summer breeze. Before something all of the sudden hits her, making her fall into a small pile of frosted leaves. She tries to shake it off and resume her travel, but there's a sharp pain in her wing. The colder it gets, the weaker she feels.
While trying to find a warmer place to recover she brushes against something dark, but soft. It felt familiar like her feathers, so she burrowed under and felt some warmth against her body, making her finally feel relaxed. A few moments pass and she's asleep under what felt like her mothers wing.
First, she's awoken by the bring sun, shining down on he through the trees. Then, by the sniffing and pushing of a dog, causing her to jump up and scream.
"Are you alright miss?" A man standing next to the dog tries to calm her.
She's confused as to why the dog seems so small and short- also not chasing her. Also who is this person that is trying to speak to her? "What is..." She stops herself and covers her mouth.
Slowly uncovering then looking at her hand, "Was that me talking? Can you understand me?"
"Loud and clear." The man lets out a soft chuckle, "Did you fall before I bumped into you?" He nods towards her arm.
She looks at her arm and notices the blue and purple discoloration on an arm, not a wing, "Something was thrown at me," She winces after twisting her arm to get a better look at it.
"That must've been a hard throw." He takes her arm and puts some snow over it, causing her to wince at the pain once again. "Sorry." He lightly brushes off the snow, "Let me wrap it up and I'll take you to the hospital."
She takes a step behind him, but she stumbles to the ground. She cries, "Ow." Under her breath.
"You really got a beating." He kneels down beside her, "I'm sure this cloak is helping with the cold."
Looking down and around her body, she sees the cloak she fell asleep under, wrapped around her shoulder, and flowing down her back.
"Here, Let me carry you to my car." He picks her up bridal style.
"Thank you." She looks at the man, then at the woods behind them getting farther and father away.
Feeling tired, she starts dozing off in his arms. He notices her head falling, "Rest your head, I'll be gentle with you.
Taking that offer she leans against his shoulder and closes her eyes.
