Third Pov- Puffy

Puffy knew very well how resistant Ranboo was to change and yet, they still managed to amaze her with their stubbornness. She would go as far as to say that it rivalled that of Techno's

*She knew from the start what made them change. There were 3 incidents and their walls grew 3x more and 3x as strong. Even she, someone who took care of them since they both had met, hadn't gotten past those walls. She could only watch as they flinched unknowingly when she patted their back, when she finally took notice of all the broken mirrors that were in their room, she had to watch as they tensed in fear, as their tail wrapped around their tail slightly gripping harder when others were near, especially from behind. She had to witness it and it broke her to her very core, no child, especially someone who was as kind as them, someone who helped even when it wasn't needed or for some wanted, should've faced the incidents that happened.

The first incident was heartbreaking and it hurt them more than any physical damage ever could. It was the first family they were adopted into. They lived with the couple a little after they turned 4 and were 5 at the time. They spent one year and a half with them before that day.  Although the couple were both humans they both loved them just as they were, tail and all. The first was the oldest, Mara, she was very obviously the more playful one. Mara had beautiful mid length hair, although the black hair looked rough, it felt the exact opposite. Mara had a voice of honey embedded with a tone of enthusiasm at all times. She reminded them of the dog, golden retrievers, from her boisterous energy to her playful manner. She was very fun and played with them all the time, especially physically since she was very athletic and loved the outdoors. She just loved nature in general. The second was Naomi, while she was fun she helped them more with their writing and how to read common. She had long dark hazel brown hair with faded dyed tips. Her voice was gentle and felt soft in their ears. No matter how much she worked, she didn't wear herself out during the day, meaning she usually tucked them in and sang a very special song to Ranboo.[one she, Puffy heard them singing to themselves when they locked themselves away.] The day it happened started like every other, they woke up, got dressed, checked their memory book, then went to their parent's bedroom. They always woke Mara first, to let Naomi sleep from yesterday's work. Mara always woke with a start but soon she brushed their hair with something new every time, this time it was a small mini bun made with the top of their hair and left the lower part down. Like always, Mara lifted them when she finished, they giggled, and she walked very quietly downstairs. Mara always made breakfast with their help. That day it was omelettes, and as a snack, solely for them, Arroz con Leche(rice pudding, search it up). Mara loved teaching them how to make something new when it came to gastronomy, it was a passion of hers. After they had done all they were allowed to they left to set up the table. While it was difficult to reach, considering their short stature. When breakfast was finished, Mara simply called out to Naomi who was already walking down the stairs. She looked like she had a much needed rest, the bags under her eyes were no longer visible and her hair didn't look like a rat's nest. While Ranboo did run towards Mara to get breakfast they were easily picked up by Naomi and placed in their chair. They pouted in response before she ruffled their hair making them giggle. The family ate together before leaving, although not without Ranboo's pig plush in Naomi's car. They were headed to the local preschool, to register Ranboo since they were now 5. The entire car ride was filled with laughter and they wouldn't have it any other way. It all came to an end when they were passing a green light, Naomi didn't see the truck headed straight for them until it was too late. *CRASH!!* When they woke up it was in a hospital...they met the head doctor there, Ponk his name was. They suffered injuries, yes but nothing like Mara's or worse Naomi's. The medical bills for Ranboo we're paid by the orphanage, as for the couple, they found out later but Naomi didn't make it..and Mara's injuries would impact her career greatly. Mara wasn't allowed to work because she was injured and her staying in the hospital spent a lot of her money after that she also had to pay for a funeral with the rest and started to go into her separate account to pay but even so it made a huge dent in her savings so even though she didn't want to she had to, she gave Ranboo back to the orphanage. A while before the funeral Ranboo met Ponk the doctor who was taking care of them at the time and had weekly checkups to name sure that there were no long lasting injuries. Afterwards,s Ranboo closed themselves off from her and everyone else. Locking themselves in their room was one thing but for weeks, well when they finally came out they were thinner and we're barely able to stand but with her much needed help they are. They had good reason puffy deducted that after losing someone they greatly considered family they were afraid, afraid of getting attached, afraid of loss, and afraid of the feelings afterwards. They opened up again after a long while but they still kept stuff to themselves and spoke less of what they remembered each day to her.

Third Pov- 1 pm

Now we're here.

They both locked eyes and for a split second, Ranboo regretted it before a dark purple haze washed over their eyes.

•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•

They remembered the first time it happened, it was a rather normal day, they were 8-9 years old(it wasn't really something they wanted to remember). A kid who obviously didn't like them came up and tried messing with Ranboo but when the kid looked them straight in the eyes it all went horribly. eye contact with them all they heard in their head were voices telling them to kill, slaughter the kid alive, to rip them to shreds. It was then a dark purple haze covered their eyes and they blacked out. When they woke up supposedly two days later, the kid was in the hospital with severe wounds and unconscious. When Ranboo was asked later on they had to tell the caretakers they didn't remember any of it and were accused of lying. Later on, it happens more, every time someone looked them in the eyes directly. Ranboo locked themselves in the room for a few weeks because of the incidents that kept happening. After finding out that it would all be logged into their file they stole it along with anything about them. When they returned to their room that day read everything about them and found out what happens whenever they blacked out. Ranboo didn't eat, sleep, or come out of their room for the following days. When new kids came they made the same mistake of either burning them with water or directly looking them in the eyes. A few months passed and the only idiotic ones to mess with Ranboo were new kids or really, really, dumb kids. Then they met Michael, (3)the little ball of sunshine. Ranboo learned sign language and piglin just for him and with him, Ranboo wasn't afraid they only ever fought others when they hurt Michael at least if they were older than him.
•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•∆•

Ranboo looked away even more. They didn't want there to be any way for the person(?)to be able to look them directly in the eyes. They weren't gonna hurt someone especially not someone who had a face that resembled Michael's in a way. The person's face had a few scars, their ears were clipped(?), and they also had a few scratches down their arms from what Ranboo could see. Although Michael didn't exactly have that many scars he did have a few on him especially the stitched scar on the right side(?) of his face.

For the first time in what seems to be forever, too long to remember Ranboo breaks, all because for once it wasn't Puffy by their side, trying to calm them down before the tears could even fall(if they weren't so afraid of her seeing them like this) This time it wasn't Puffy holding them like they were glass like they were something fragile that could break at least even more at the slightest touch. That night their sobs were heard loud and clear, no more worry about the pain that would ensue, no worry about the eyes, nothing in that moment mattered.

When Phil came home the best day he hadn't quite expected his only 2 adopted kids to be snuggled into the corner of his living room a little bruised up, especially the younger of the two.
