❧ Monday arrived sooner than you had anticipated. When you checked your phone for the first time that morning, all of your alerts were from your mother, telling you that the job interview was today.

You burst out laughing as you read your mother's messages. She had threatened to come to Colorado and pull you to the interview if she had to, which was very amusing coming from her; after all, she was like the sweetest person, she couldn't hurt a soul.

You checked the time on your phone, squinting your (e/c) orbs as you read the time. It was around seven in the morning, and the sun was already out, with the light rays beaming brilliantly through the window. You stifled a yawn, stood up, stretched, and proceeded to the bathroom to get ready for another day.

While brushing your teeth, your mind strayed to the events of the previous week. Thoughts of Eren began to fill your head, and remembering the kiss you two experienced sent shivers down your spine, making you desire more from him. But, tragically, he abruptly stopped your relationship, leaving you dazed in the headlights.

Given that the city was larger than you had anticipated, you concluded you would never see the brunette again.

You pressed your lips together and exhaled deeply as your face sank. You'd only known Eren for a day, but he'd made such an effect on you that you wanted to learn more about him. You had to immediately come back to reality, telling yourself that you couldn't get caught up on one guy when there was plenty of other fish in the sea.

Your heart sank with sadness and a tinge of regret at the prospect of never seeing Eren again; you were already missing him. You strolled back into your room after spitting out the minty paste and wiping any excess water droplets from your mouth.

A sigh escaped your lips as you choose your attire, settling on something cute and professional. Even though you wished you could see that beautiful man again, you knew you couldn't and wouldn't, so you resolved to be content with how lovely today was. Plus, you had a job interview, which you knew you'd ace, so you kept a positive attitude.

You considered going to the coffee shop across the street from your hotel as you strolled along the crowded street, but the prospect of meeting Eren again quickly dissuaded you. You desperately wanted to meet him, but you knew you weren't mentally ready. Given the fact that he had ignored you following your first kiss.

You took out your phone and looked for local cafes, eventually settling on one a short distance away. As you closed your eyes tightly, the wind-blasted violently past you, causing your (h/c) hair to flutter. As your thoughts returned to Eren, you were unaware of your surroundings, and you quickly clashed with another individual. You repeated apologies over and again, embarrassed that you weren't paying attention.

"It's alright, miss," a soft voice said, as they worriedly peered into your (e/c) orbs, making sure you were alright. "It's my fault, I wasn't paying attention."

You noticed the stranger was a lady when you looked up, meeting her eyes. You noted that she had untidy hair that reached past her shoulders and dark brown eyes, and that she was also fairly short. She was standing with a cane, and you assumed it was due to a former injury after noticing a slight limp in her gait.

You paused for a second, your mind wandering as you peered absently into her calm brown eyes. She grew concerned and hurriedly clasped your arm before speaking up. "How about I go get some tea for us; it's on me, after all, it was my fault."

As she led the two of you through the mob, she gently smiled at you, plainly not accepting no for an answer. She looked at you frequently as you walked arm in arm, a little smile on her lips at all times. As the two of you approached the cafe, she opened the entrance and the bell rang, signaling that fresh customers had come.
