❧ The pleasant aroma of vanilla filled your nostrils as you walked into their home, bringing with it a sense of calm and comfort.

Emilia was a joy to behold; she showed you about the house, much to Eren's chagrin; but she didn't seem to mind; she embraced you with open arms. You hummed with excitement as she dragged your hand in hers, pointing out where everything was. This house was magnificent, and Eren had impeccable taste. Before she spoke, Emilia craned her neck towards you, a broad smile flashing on the corners of her lips. "Would you like to see my room?"

You shifted your gaze to Eren, who appeared to be upset. "Eren, can I come into Emilia's room?" You asked softly, cocking your head to the side as you looked into his Teal eyes.

Emilia brightened even more after he flashed you a brief nod, something you didn't believe was possible for a kid her age, but she was a kid. You reasoned that she must have a lot of energy crammed into her small frame.

As the three of you proceeded towards the young girl's chamber, she would occasionally cast a frightened glance at her father, but she ignored it. Not wanting to be too concerned, and instead concentrating on something much more enjoyable, such as showing you her room. She dragged you over to her dollhouse as she opened the door, her eyes gleaming.

"Well isn't this pretty," you murmur, your eyes scanning the wooden structure and noticing the intricate details.

Emilia dashed to your side, pointing out some important structural details. "It was handcrafted by my father!" Emilia said, flashing her father a big grin, "He stayed up all night creating it. Thank you, Daddy!"

Eren's face flushed scarlet with shame as Emilia proceeded to laud him for his diligence. He leaned against the doorframe, scratching the back of his neck as a few coughs left his lips, attempting to appear unconcerned, cool, and collected in your presence.

"You did pretty well, Eren, maybe you could help me create a few things, yeah?" you asked, a sly grin on your lips as you peeked over your shoulder to look at him.

Emilia panicked as Eren began coughing violently, and she dashed up to him, standing on her tiptoes, and tried to pat his back. You restrained a chuckle as you straightened your clothes and walked over to Eren, resting your hand on his shoulder. You found yourself entranced as you peered into Eren's green orbs, his eyes a beautiful color of spring clover. "Don't worry Emilia, he'll be alright," you said.

Emilia breathed a sigh of relief, puzzled as to what had triggered her father's coughing, but shrugged it aside. Her childish mentality was unable to properly comprehend the circumstances. You turned over to Eren, who was still recovering his breath, as you heard the front door open and close. "It's time for your interview," he said after checking his watch.

With Eren and Emilia leading the way, you nodded as you proceeded down the hallway toward the kitchen. You were met by a fair-skinned woman of medium height with a slim yet curvy figure as soon as you went into the big area. Her beautiful black hair was pulled carelessly to the side and she had bright hazel eyes. She turned around after putting the goods down, sighing deeply, and was welcomed by two familiar faces, Eren and Emilia, as well as one unexpected one, you.

She raised an eyebrow, perplexed as to who you were until it occurred to her that you were here for an interview. She'd been seeking someone to care for Emilia, her grand-daughter, and Eren's daughter, for a few months. A little smile appeared on her lips as she examined you; you were stunning. She moved up to you fast and extended her hand for a handshake. "Please follow me," says Mrs. Jaeger.

You give her a short handshake and follow her. You give Eren a concerned look as you walk away, but he gives you a thumbs up, assuring you that everything is fine.
