'Oh man! That was a fun day!' Victor threw himself onto the sofa and exhaled.
'I'll say,' Millard sat down next to him, 'we pulled prank's galore!'
'It was pretty fun.' Enoch have a small smile.
Kitty sighed, before holding up the DVD she brought home from the village. 'Who's up for a scary movie?'
'What is it?' asked Millard.
'Called "The Wolf Man". They were selling a bunch of scary movies.'
'Oh, how come we didn't see it?' asked Victor.
'Because you lot were too busy setting things on fire and laughing your asses off.'
He shrugged. 'Fair point.'
'Would you just put the damned movie on?' asked Enoch impatiently.
'Sure.' Kitty bent down and slid it in. 'Let's watch.'
Enoch POV
'Good God, look at all that hair on his face.' said Victor. Millard nodded. 'I know. Guess that's the reason he's called the Wolf Man.'
I sighed. This was kinda boring. I was about to turn my head to ask Kitty what she thought when we heard footsteps behind us. Our heads swung around; no one there.
'Hello?' Victor said quietly.
'It's not me.' said Millard.
'We know it's not you, genius.' I rolled my eyes. I heard someone gasp, and I saw Kitty's eyes well with tears.
'Kit? You okay?' I asked gently.
'Avi....' I heard her mutter.
'Avi? Who's-' but she ran up the stairs before I could finish.
While Victor and Millard sat there in shock, I ran up after her. 'Kitty!'
'Kitty, please open the door.' I said softly. She was crying, from what I could hear. 'Kitty, please.'
Eventually, she unlocked the door, to reveal her tear streaked face. She stepped back, allowing me in, before she collapsed into my arms and started sobbing again.
'Hey, hey.' I found the wall. I leaned against it and sank to the floor with my arms still around her. 'What is it? Why are you so upset? I heard you mention an "Avi"; Who's that?'
She looked up at me and rubbed her eyes.
'He was my best friend. He died a few years ago, but I had no idea how he died. I saw him, Enoch. He was behind us. And he....' she broke off, burring her face into her knees as she hugged herself. I gently stroked her arms and back, trying to calm her down.
'What happened, Kitty?'
'He looked awful! He was covered in blood, and there was a hole where his heart was! Apparently he got in a car accident but survived. But then the driver who hit him on purpose stabbed him and took his heart out! I wish I was there to save him!'
All I could do was stare at her. Before shaking my head, realising that looked bad. 'Sorry, sorry, I was just in shock. That's awful. I'm so sorry.'
She nodded, before laying her head on my chest.
'Please don't go.' she whispered.
'I won't.'
'Enoch?'
'Yes?'
'Thank you.'
'Anytime.'
