in contrast to the silent atmosphere inside taeyong's house, the plaza was lively and colorful.

children were happily playing around.

oh, how everyone wished to be a child again.

but we can't say that a child is carefree and happy every time. a small problem for adults can be very big for the children. and we can't invalidate that fact. so, if you'll ask mark if he wanted to be a child too, he would say yes if he'll be able to have the same state of mind that he has right now. because his state of mind right now is much wider. he can't possibly be hurt if ever his mom won't be able to buy him a watermelon toothpaste because he will understand that they already have a mint one, and his self right now is fine with it.

anyways, mark was alone right now because just an hour of their little tour, his aunt just had to call taeyong. since mark knew how to go home by himself already, mark assured the guy that it's fine.

well, it is not fine, really. he's so lonely seating at the corner of the plaza. the weather suddenly went gloomy, and the children outside vanished slowly too.

"it's christmas, and it's raining," mark stated. feeling that the heavens above are siding with him by going along with his mood.

the rain started pouring and mark was glad he sat on a bench with a roof, because he might not have stopped himself to be dramatic and stayed under the rain—like in sad music videos— well, actually he's just too lazy to stand up.

suddenly, a figure came running towards him.

"oh, gosh. why is it raining suddenly?" a guy, almost the same height as mark, tanned, and has a blond curly hair questioned. his checkered green and red polo was slightly wet from the rain shower. he then tried looking for a seat, besides mark. "oh, hi, sir! do you mind if i share a seat with you?"

mark was snapped back to reality. "oh, no. it's fine, you can seat here," he responded and scooted to the right for the guy to have a space.

"oh, gee. thanks!"

not being a nosy one, but mark's eyes travelled to what the guy is holding. the guy must have sensed that and turned to mark. "oh, i'm actually looking for urgent charity volunteers, for an orphanage nearby. something came up, and our volunteers were not able to come. now, it's raining, and i have to stop. there are actually few who gladly accepted it and were now heading to the venue. oh, i wish that they were able to go there before this rain has poured."

mark nodded, although the guy was not looking at him.

a silence spread. it's kind of awkward actually. at least for mark.

"uh, right. what if . . ." the guy trailed his words as he turns his head to mark, "are you free, sir? i mean—"

"sure!" he answered, guessing the question.

actually, he's not sure. but he has nothing to do anyways.

well, what mark didn't know is that this will give him those works and emotions that he has been looking for all this time.
