FALL 2024

The sky slowly starts to crack open, as if it was made out of delicate glass. Colours of purple blooms in between the gaps as it threatens to slip through the cracks and engulf the entire world at any given chance. Peter could hear the sound of the sky slowly shattering, creating more sharp edges around the cracks as time ticked by.

As ridiculous as it sounds, the view is definitely breathtaking. If this is how the end of the world looks like, Peter will gladly die if his final view of the world is this beautiful.

But Peter knew better than that. He knew that if the purple energy managed to leak out into this universe, everything would be done for. Peter could only assume that the purple energy would suck everything that is left in this universe — or planet, whatever — like a black hole. And this world would be nothing but just a void.

Well, that is just Peter's little science theory behind the cracking sky with purple energy that is most probably gamma. He could be wrong, though. Even if it was something magic related, villains that know Peter is Spider-Man in the multiverse will come crashing into this universe and destroy everything in their way to get their revenge.

Peter knew that either way, they are fucked. A cracking sky is not something you can just shrug off as a normal occurrence.

It was a terrifying sight.

"What's happening?" Peter asks as he perches on top of the Statue of Liberty.

"They're starting to come through," Stephen grits his teeth as he struggles to hold everything under his control, "and I can't stop them."

Peter looks at Stephen with worry as he glances back at the sky that is at the brink of collapsing. His senses have been nagging at him from the back of his head. It had given him a dull ominous feeling. Something was definitely wrong but it could not pinpoint the exact place of danger so Peter watches everything unfold uneasily.

"There's gotta be something that we can do. Can't you just cast the spell again with the original way before I screwed up?" Peter asks, his voice starting to get frantic as he tries to come up with ideas to help Stephen. He doesn't know how magic works but it doesn't hurt to try, right?

"We're too late for that. They're here. They're here because of you." Stephen croaks out.

Peter felt a pang in his heart. A brief expression of guilt washes over Peter's face. It was just for a brief moment but Stephen has caught the expression on his face. There is no doubt that Peter is blaming himself. He turns his focus back to the sky, shaky hands tries to close up the gap and mend back the universe to its original state.

Everything that happens so far is because of him. Because of Peter. If only he did not tamper with the spell in the first place and let Stephen handle everything, he would not have invited all these visitors to his universe and Aunt May would still be alive. If only he was not selfish.

Ignoring the guilt that is spreading over his chest, Peter decides to make a bold decision.

"What if everyone forgot who I was?" Peter asks.
