Being an omega has always rubbed Daryl the wrong way in multiple areas of his life. He was his fathers and brothers personal servant all growing up, so dishes and cleaning and cooking were something he hated now.

He was lucky, his mate Rick was willing to help him with all of those typical 'house wife' tasks, at least when h was home to help with them. This was one of those particularly bad days, Rick wasn't home and the dishes needed done, and the floors needed scrubbing.

Carl had thrown a fit on multiple occasions and thrown applesauce across the room. Daryl had made spaghetti for lunch and was regretting that as well.

He bucked up, picking up his squirming toddler pup he carried him to the bathroom and began to fill the tub with warm water to bathe the little alpha pup.

"Carl, you've got to calm down puppy." Daryl muttered as he attempted to fight his applesauce and spaghetti sauce covered shirt off of him. Carl giggled.

"Momma nooo." The little pup whined, Daryl rolled his eyes.

It had been cute when the pups first words were momma and daddy, but now NO seemed to be his favorite word and he used those three in almost every sentience.

Daryl finally managed to get his clothes off and picked up the small toddler setting him in the bubble filled tub.

He began to scrub the squirming pup, the little pup giggled and squirmed attempting to splash his mother with water. Daryl dodged it as best he could but couldn't avoid becoming wet. He narrowed his eyes but couldn't stay mad at his son, the little boy gave him a lopsided grin as he was finally taken out and dried off before he was put in a cute red and black plaid pajama and laid down for a nap.

"Nooo." The toddler whined again as the lights were turned off and the musical mobile began to spin. Daryl hummed to the sound as he put the dirty clothes in the laundry and handed his young pup a binki and sippy-cup. Carl rolled to his right side his eyes fluttering, Daryl smiled watching his son fall asleep. The forest animals spinning slowly, lulling him to enter the world of dreams.

Daryl slowly slipped out of the nursery and walked back into the kitchen. He checked the monitor to ensure he would hear his pup if he woke, and got to work on cleaning.

He cursed under his breath at himself. Out of all the things I could have made, it was spaghetti. He thought to himself as he began to scrub the floor with a wet towel. He cursed throwing the towel in anger, the sauce wasn't as easy to get out of the white kitchen tile as he had hoped.

He ignored the spaghetti sauce and beans to clean the applesauce up. This was easier, this he could handle.

As he began to clean the dishes his eyes landed on the monitor. The light flashing, he then heard a soft whimpering. Daryl set the dishes back, dried his hands, and raced off with a second filled up sippy for his pup.

"Hey sweetie, what's wrong." Daryl asked lifting his pup up seeing tears roll down his cheeks. Carl whined and whimpered until Daryl laid his head down over his scent glands. The scent of his mother calmed the young pup.

Daryl rocked him some more and then laid him down, he turned the mobile back on and waited till he seemed to fall asleep once more.

He sighed thankful for the pup quickly falling back asleep.

He headed back to the dishes, what felt like hours of scrubbing and water splashing later he had finally finished the dishes. He looked to the clock and found it had only been half an hour. He grumbled looking the drying rack over, he would have to put those away at some point today.

He sighed, he needed to clean the spaghetti sauce stain on the tile. He crossed his legs and began to work on the stain, he finally managed to get it out as his phone rang.

It was Rick.

"Hello." Daryl smiled as he picked up.

"How's my sweet omega?" Rick asked, Shane was talking in the background.

"Fine, pups had a bath and is down for a bath. Want me to make anything for dinner?"

"No honey I can pick something up, give our puppy a kiss for me when he gets up. I'll be home in a few hours."

"Alright, I love you alpha."

"I love you too." Rick smiled, they talked for a little longer until Rick had to get back to work.

Daryl turned back to the dishes, time to put them away. He began to put dishes in the spots they went, Carl woke and Daryl headed to get his toddler pup from the crib.

Carrying him off to the living room the once cleaned living room had become a disaster of toys.

Daryl sighed but couldn't help but enjoy the laughter of his young pup. Daryl smiled seeing him play and babble about who knows what. "Icequeam?" Carl began to ask.

"Really you think you deserve it?" The omega questioned.

"Yes momma."

Daryl couldn't help but smile and nodded giving him a small bowl of ice-cream. Chocolate had been a mistake, Ice-cream covered his face and clothes. Daryl turned to get a towel when he heard a splat, chocolate covered the carpet.

Daryl took a deep breath, just a pup just a pup. He kept repeating as Carl looked down at the mess he made and just smiled.

Daryl picked up the toddler and put him in his highchair as he began to scrub the floor. That was when the door opened, Rick stepped in to find Carl fussing covered in chocolate and Daryl mumbling under his breath as he scrubbed the floor tirelessly.

"Thought he had a bath?" Rick asked eyeing the pup.

"He had one." Daryl replied. "Your turn."

Rick smiled kissing Daryl's cheek before picking up the squirming pup and carrying off to his second bath of the day.

"Did you give momma a rough day?"

"No daddy." Carl said his smile wide.

Rick chuckled. He cleaned up his pup and put him back to bed returning to find Daryl picking up all the toys that looked as if they had been caught in a tornado.

"Daryl, you can take a break."

"But it isn't all clean." Daryl replied looking over the other half of the room. Blocks scattering the floor, the bowl from earlier on the table.

"It can wait." Rick replied kissing his mate lovingly. "You need time to rest, our pup is a handful."

Daryl smiled and kissed his mate lovingly. He was lucky that Rick was so good to him. He sat down and closed his eyes for only a moment, but sleep took over quickly.

Rick smiled, he finished cleaning up the toys, walking into the kitchen he found a spot under the pups highchair. Spaghetti sauce, Rick smiled. This had to have been a day of hell for Daryl, yet he was so good.

Rick finished cleaning, scrubbing the sauce for a good while. He kissed Daryl softly as he carried him off to bed.

Rick knew Daryl worked tirelessly, and was always a good sport and hardly ever complained. He planted another kiss to his forehead before laying beside his mate.
