Graduation Day

A much-welcomed breeze blows through your hair as the sun beats down above you. The crowd of people roars as they search for their seats. Family and friends gather as we wait for our graduates to hit the stage. You smile to yourself thinking of how you got here. Look over to your left to see Alex smiling over at you. She winks and nods her head over to your right where Olivia sits with a smile on her face and tears in her eyes. You smile moving your hand to grab hers causing her to look at you.

"Are you alright Liv?" You chuckled. She nods taking a breath " I can't believe our little boy is graduating high school." You and Alex smile understanding her bittersweet feelings. "I know it feels like just yesterday I met y/n and the three of us started our relationship. The three of us raising Noah along the way and falling in love. It's been one crazy ride." Alex says smiling towards you two. "Yeah. And now it's over." Olivia says choking back a sob. "It's not over Liv. It's just a new chapter. Noah is starting his life and the three of us get to start a new chapter as well. It's not the end baby." You tell her as you comb a strand of hair behind her ear.  "She's right. Noah is starting a new adventure and the three of us get to have some new adventures." Alex says winking with a smile on her face. Olivia chuckles rolling her eyes.

"I guess you're both right. Ughh, I'm just going to miss him so much. He's my baby." Olivia says with a sad smile. "He'll always be your baby. " you tell her leaning over to kiss her cheek. She smiles nodding her head "and yours." She says looking at you. "And yours." She repeats looking over to Alex. The three of you share a smile as you hold each one of their hands. 

The ceremony starts and the feelings return. You hold tight to each of their hands as he waits in line to cross the stage. Noah spots the three of you smiling and waving. And just like that, his name is being called, he's walking across the stage diploma in hand and a smile on his face. The three of you rise cheering and screaming his name, tears falling as you watch him walk across.

As soon as it's over Noah searches for you. He spots Alex first running towards her he picks her up spinning her around as she laughs. "Did you see that mom? I'm done! I made it!" He cheers as he lowers her back down. Alex chuckles "I seen. I'm so proud of you my love." She says kissing his cheek. You and Liv smile watching the interaction. Noah's eyes catch yours and he smiles. Walking over he wraps you up in a hug. You smile hugging him tightly. Noah pulls back looking over towards Liv. She smiles as he leans over to hug her.

You can see the tears in her eyes as she holds him in her arms as if it's for the very last time. Pulling back Noah speaks "I want to thank you, all three of you.  At different stages of your life, you were given a choice. The choice to be my mom and I'm so thankful and happy that you did. I love you. And I'm proud to have three amazing mothers." He says tears pricking his eyes. The three of you cry silently as he speaks thinking back to the very moment when you decided to be a part of his life thanking your lucky stars that you said yes.
