"Player 218, Cho Sang-woo."

A screen projected out of the area above the door, showcasing a screen of a man with glasses and black hair, he looked very familiar.

"Age, 46 years. The former team leader of Team Two at Joy Investments. Siphoned money off from his clients' balances, then invested it in derivatives and futures options and failed. Current loss, 650 million won. 107, Kim Mi-ok, 540 million in debt."

They continued to list off names, every single person in the room had their name called with their amount in debt and loss except mine. I don't think anyone noticed though. They were too focused on the fact that they knew our information. My eyes widened and I turned to peer at Ji Yeong. She looked shocked too, her hands were shaking, and her heart could be heard thumping from a foot away. I grabbed her hand to reassure her that she was going to be okay, this would be all over in only six days, then we could go back to our everyday lives.

"Every person standing here in this room is living on the brink of financial ruin. You all have debts that you can't pay off. When we first went to see each of you, not a single one of you trusted us. But as you all know, we played a game, and as we promised, gave you money when you won. And suddenly, everyone here trusted us. You called and volunteered to participate in this game of your own free will. So, this is it. I'll give you one last chance to choose. Will you go back to living your old and depressing lives getting chased by your creditors? Or will you act and seize this last opportunity we're offering here?"

Old depressing lives was a harsh way of saying it but yeah. Everyone in this room has nothing to live for and money would make their lives interesting if they didn't blow it in a week. I never played any game which sounded weird to me.

"Hey! Which games are we playing here?"

"To play fair, we cannot disclose any information about the games ahead of time."

I thought hard about what happened before I fell asleep in the van. That card that my dad gave me had a number that took me over here. Maybe it was the wrong number but I'm almost positive my dad wouldn't set me up to go to someplace like this. The money here must be serious to have my own father admit me to a place like this and for Ji Yeong to make such a big deal about it.

"If we win, how much money do we get?" I asked.

A door from above where we were standing had opened, a huge piggy bank came out though but there was nothing in it. I knew it had been a scam and a waste of time. My eyes went back to the men in red suits as I got ready to laugh it all off and prepare for them to take us all back home.

"Your prize money will be accumulated in there after every game. We will disclose the amount to everyone after the first game is over. If you do not wish to participate, then please let us know at this time."

Never mind.
