"Have you enjoyed your little game of cat and mouse?" a voice said.

Eita turned in all different directions. "W...What are you talking about...?"

"Why are you so desperate to see him? After everything you put him through."

There was nothing but darkness surrounding him. He couldn't figure out where the voice was coming from. "Who are you?"

"Every day, you cry yourself to sleep, thinking about your one true love and how dearly you miss him."

"Answer my question!"

"You're always demanding something. Semi Eita only thinks about himself."

"That's not true," Eita responded, his voice shaking.

"Oh, but it is. Isn't that trait of yours exactly why he isn't here?"

"Shut up...!"

"You wished him out of your life. Thus, your wish was granted. Yet, you yearn for his warmth every day since then. Why?"

"Because he's my everything!"

"Your everything?"

The voice began to laugh, the sound echoing everywhere around him. "If you truly cared for him as much as you claim you do, then why are you here in the first place?"

"Because!" Eita started to say, "Because-- I..."

His gaze drifted down to the ground, guilt wrapping itself around him. "Eita."

His eyes widened, an all too familiar voice filling his ears. He quickly turned on his heel and saw Y/N standing a few feet away from him. When he tried to come closer, a force kept him from doing so. He looked at Eita with such a pained expression. It made Eita want to cry and beg for forgiveness for what he had done.

"Why did you do it...?" Y/N asked, his voice cracking as he struggled to get the words out.

"Y/N, I--"

Y/N lowered his gaze, tears running down his face. Regardless, he looked back up at Eita. He gave him a closed-eye smile that seemed so forced. "I'm sorry... I guess I'm still not good enough, huh...?"

Eita shook his head, feeling his own tears streaming down his face. He clutched the collar of his shirt. Before Eita could say anything, Y/N had vanished.

From the darkness emerged a silhouette outlined in red. They walked toward Eita and stood over him. They then reached out and grabbed him by his jaw.

"Bring him back," he managed to say past his quiet sobs.

"Why should I? He'll only continue to suffer."

"Please," he begged. "I want him back."

"I'm afraid I can't do that, Semi Eita. He's in good hands and he's happy. Why should he be deprived of the happiness he deserves, after all he's endured, to be put back with you?"

Eita clutched the hand that held him. "I'll do anything...!"

The figure let go of him and stepped back. "In three months time, the effects of the foolish wish will be set in stone. If you cannot undo what you have done, then forever shall the treasure you seek be lost."

"What? But how?"

"That is for you to figure out on your own. Prove to me just how honestly you mean the words you speak. Your failure will be rewarded with the loss of that which you claim to hold so dear."
