Alicia, Roman, and Lizzy followed Rose into a large room; it contained a bunch of bunk beds, and a few smaller beds for children. Rose gave Alice a piece of paper and hurried off into the hallway. Alice glanced at the sheet, and it read:

Alicia Reddington- Bed Number: 371

Roman Yulfo- Bed Number: 372

Elizabeth Yulfo- Bed Number: 373

Alice looked around the room until she found bed 372, and tucked Roman in his bed. She then snatched Lizzy's hand and shuffled through the hallways until she saw the medical room, she entered the lab again and sat down on a nearby chair. Mr. Jenkins turned his swivel chair towards her.

"Go Lizzy, go to the man, he's going to give you a check-up." Alice said to Lizzy. She carefully took a step closer to Mr. Jenkin. He took a magnifying glass out of a nearby drawer and examined Lizzy's left eye. It looked just like Alicia's mysterious black eye. Lizzy, who wasn't sure what was going on, backed away from Mr. Jenkin, and went towards Alicia in a shy manner. Lizzy liked meeting new people, but not during times when her mom was gone, and when there were random murderers just wandering the streets. Mr. Jenkin squeezed Lizzy's nose suddenly, and she giggled.

"It's okay, see? I'm not going to hurt you, you just have a bit of a boo-boo." Mr. Jenkin whispered.

"But I suppose I've seen enough." Mr. Jenkin slowly put his tools down. He looked at Lizzy, and turned to his desk. He dug through the filing cabinets until he found an eyepatch. He handed it to Alice.

"I don't think that she'll leave it on, but you can have this to cover up your eye." Alice took the eyepatch and applied it to her eye carefully, until it was comfortable on her face, it lay nestled in her hair.

"Thank you, sir."

"No need for that, but you're welcome anyways. But, now to the point. You see Alice, we've studied the half-bloods for a bit, and we've figured out that they can't be infected. I know all of this is new for you, but because of this, it would be best if you became a soldier, you'd do well for the place if you can't be infected. What do you say, you in?"
