Del, Courtney and I all walked into the dining hall and spotted our dorm table, it wasn't hard to miss as the table was draped in a peach coloured tablecloth. We sat down and looked to the front where Mrs. Bluefront was clearing her throat and tapping the mic, preparing to explain the games.
"Welcome everyone to the Dining Hall!" said Mrs. Bluefront. "I hope you all got a good sleep and are ready to start the games!" at that a couple people whooped and cheered. "First I will explain the games to you. During this week you and your horse will be tested in your teams (which are your dorm rooms by the way), you will be tested in basic things such as jumping, equitation, and simple dressage moves such as leg yielding plus cross country. The first day being simple things and the last day being a full competitive show in your chosen discipline. At the end of the week you will all be tested and the team with the best results will win!" Mrs. Bluefront stated.
I looked to Del and grinned, this was going to be fun I thought excitedly.
"Now everyone may eat breakfast and head down to the stables with your mentors to tack up and everyone will meet in the big arena at 7:30 am!" with that Mrs. Bluefront walked down to the staff table and sat down.
A happy chatter started up and I grabbed a mini box of cereal of off the table and munched quietly. A boy to my right smiled at me "Hey, I'm Cheyenne!" he said.
"Hi" I said and smiled back "Arrie"
"Cool, so what discipline are you?" He asked.
"Show jumping you?" I asked as I finished my cereal and munched on an apple.
"I'm an eventer so technically I do all three but I'm here on scholarship for cross-country" he said and grinned.
"Awesome!" I said "do you have a horse?" I asked.
"Ya, his name's Aquarius" Cheyenne said "he's a 16hh 13 year old chestnut warmblood with three socks" he stated.
"Cool!" I said "I have a 15hh grey thoroughbred mare named Teagan" I said smiling.
"That's cool" Cheyenne said and glanced at his watch "I better head down now to get Aqua ready" he said and smiled. "See you around?" he asked.
"Ya, definitely!" I replied smiling.
"You ready to go?" asked Tess, from a couple seats down.
"Ya, coming!" I said and jumped up. Tess and I followed the huge crowd of students down to the large complex of many stables and made a bee-line for the barn where Teagan was.
