Exhausted from the loud music, you were sitting in the corner of the room, waiting for your supposed date.

You were at a ball that your friend Jean had organised at his home to celebrate yours and all of your friends graduations.
Even some of your teachers were invited, like Levi Ackerman and Hange Zoe, which was a weird but fun thing.

When Jean had first announced the idea of the ball, your childhood friend Eren immediately asked you out as his date for the evening.

Of course he only did that to make Mikasa jealous and you totally knew that, so you agreed with his offer since you absolutely wanted to see those two together.

But now that Eren had left you to dance with Mikasa, you were totally bored and kinda tired.

At first, you were hoping to see Armin somewhere since he was also invited, but he has been avoiding you since he heard you were going out with his best friend.

"Come on, man ! You know I'm doing this for Mikasa, no need to act like that !"
Those were your thoughts at first, but now you were just sad to think about it.

You two were best friends, and you probably always have been together though your entire life (with Eren and Mikasa of course)
So the idea of him being distant with you is making your entire body freeze in apprehension.

Maybe he was bored of you ?
After all, all of you will probably never be together like always since you will all take a different path in life.

You sigh because of this tough, you do not want to think about it.

As you were about to stand up to go grab something to drink, you can see the silhouette of a man approaching you.

- Hey Y/N, I didn't think I would find you there !

- Oh hey ! What are you doing here Armin ?

The blond boy sat with you, and you couldn't help but notice the two glasses of wine in his hands despite the fact he "didn't know" where you were.

He noticed your staring as he proposes you one of the glasses of alcohol.

- I...I was supposed to give that...give that to Annie, but... she left me to go with Bertholdt.

- So you are also in the same case as me, you said in a chuckle.

Despite the fact that he did seem to hesitate a bit while saying that, you couldn't help but to feel jealous as the mention of Annie.

- Yeah...even though I'm really surprised that Eren just left you like this.
I didn't even thought that he would've asked you out in the first place considering his feelings for Mikasa.

Once again, you can't contain yourself to laugh a little.
Was he jealous, or just curious ?

- Nah, don't worry about that Armin.
I already knew what was going to happen, that is the reason why I accepted.

- What do you mean ?

- Don't tell me you didn't figured this out already ?
You're the clever one here Armin !

He didn't respond, but you could clearly see a bit of a red blush on his cheek that wasn't here a second ago.

- Don't say it like you aren't clever either Y/N, he mumbled but not loud enough for you to hear it

You drink a little of your glass of wine.

- I accepted Eren's offer because he wanted Mikasa to react, that's all.
And honestly, I think I really nailed this considering they probably are making out at this instant ! -you said proudly.

You sighed, giving up that cheerful face of yours as you take another shot of your drink.

- I mean, I can't blame them, I would probably do the same if I were them.

- What... do you mean Y/N ?

You look at Armin again.
The blush is still here, on his cheeks.
At this moment, you realised how much you actually liked him.
He was well dressed for the ball, and his flustered face was making your heart melt.

God, if only he was looking at you the same as you were looking at him !

- I mean, now that we graduated, we will probably not see each other as much as we used to.
I'm not only saying that for our group of friends, but also for the two of us.

- Yeah, it's true that we've always been together you and me, isn't it ?
Kinda like Eren and Mikasa, but...-

You notice that he really is a blushing mess right know, he seems to struggle with his words.

- Like those two ? Do you want us to make out at the end of the night ?

Again, you chuckle while saying those words.
Of course you wouldn't say no to that, but he would probably ; you are scared of letting your hopes down.

Armin seems totally confused by what you just said.
He wouldn't mind it if you were serious, he really thought that you were a beautiful person.

When he first saw you wearing that pretty dress at the beginning of the ball, he immediately wanted to tell you how adorable he thought you are.
But now that he is with you, he don't know what to compliment you about.
You have pretty eyes, beautiful body and even a cute laugh.
Even your personality is awesome, you are one of the best person of his world.

Despite all those things, he can't help but notice how sad you really are.

Is this because of him ?

He knows you are right about how your relationship may evolve, and he do not want to be separated from you.
But in the future, you might encounter other people, other friends.

And maybe a lover.

This simple tough is making him nervous.

He wants to said something to maybe flirt with you, but what would happen if this is too bold for you ?

He takes a deep breath and looks at you in the eyes.

- Well, you are so pretty and one of the best person I know, I could never say no to that if you want to do it.

You immediately stop your goofy smile as you hear his words, you could almost feel your cheeks burn.

- Eren and Mikasa are probably scared to be separated in the future, and I am too.
I don't want to live without you, Y/N

You can't say if the warm feeling in your stomach is caused by the wine or by Armin himself as he leans his face toward yours, his breath caressing your visage.

You can feel a hand placed on your chin while another one is holding back your head.

- I love you
